  1. Agreed, contact the employer. I have seen employers get involved in situations similar to this and the issue was resolved
  2. I have just moved to a Stage from years on Spez Camber and Stumpy. If you in JHB do yourself a favour and speak to Barry Crouse from Pyga, you won't have any doubts about a decision after that.
  3. AHH I thought this might be the case. Thanks guys
  4. I've been on a 3 year break/ beer loading phase and looking at the 2019 calendars online and can't seem to see any of the one day ultra marathons. Longest I see is the 90km trail seeker. There were a few +100km one day event's in the past, are these not taking place anymore? Think they were part of the national series
  5. What are the chances! My pin is also ****
  6. Oh right, I must missed that legislation change...not being an active member and all
  7. And obviously if you have ever or do still use a camelback your application will immediately be rejected. Goes without saying really.
  8. Another product to go on the "one day when I'm big" list
  9. There is another thread that has been going on for days about the new wireless groupset from SRAM. My comment will make no sense if you haven't been following it.
  10. Only AXS owners can become premium subscription members
  11. Absolutely agree. My brother's old business partner had a friend in a similar situation many years ago in Durban with a car. He was shot dead before he even left his vehicle.
  12. Rwanda does something similar, last Saturday of each month residents by law have to clean their immediate neighbourhood and vehicle's are prohibited from driving into city center until midday. The city center gets full of cyclists, walkers, runners even skateboarers and rollerblading. It's fantastic to see
  13. Thanks everyone for the replies and tips. Looks like I'm going to have to keep trying to get my fat @ss comfortable with running
  14. I'm hoping somebody can help me with some advice on training I travel extensively for work, throughout Africa mostly. Usually 4 weeks in country and then back to SA for a few weeks. Depending on where I am staying I sometimes don't have access to a gym with a stationary bike or one that is ridable. Usually there is a treadmill though. My issue is I am just back on the bike after a 3 year break and trying to build some base mileage. If I can't ride, will treadmill sessions still help with building some form of base even if it's it's not a cycling base? Will I loose all my cycling fitness I have gained while in SA if all I can do is run when away? Thanks for any help and suggestions
  15. That's what I was thinking! My bank would have declined the first attempt
  16. I recon if we keep this thread going for long enough we can drive this price down to about 5k...I see another online store has this on special for slightly lower price....just think...if everyone can afford this maybe, just maybe we can all be friends and stop the judgement on the trails I have a dream!
  17. Just on this topic of pointing and laughing at people who can afford things others can't business, what is the correct protocol here, should the pointer be wearing a pair of those blue gloves in order to point or is a bare hand point acceptable?
  18. Recently went down this road and after some research went with cyclesure. On the Outsurance questions, I came across a few threads where people had issues with claims, I think it is mentioned in the thread below: https://community.bikehub.co.za/topic/178160-king-price-r1-bike-insurance/page-2 I have no personal experience with them though
  19. I had a 2016 Camber expert and absolutely loved it. Can't remember what fork was on it though. Was in the market again now and was a toss-up between a 2018 S-works Camber and the Pyga Stage. Landed up with the stage just because I found an incredible deal on a very upgraded bike. I will always recommend a Camber when ever I can, most comfortable and capable bike I have rider. (Only done a small ride on the Stage so can't comment Long term)
  20. Hey all, I keep getting a post on Facebook to a coaching program/ product called MTB Fitness. Looks like it's run by a UK coach. £30 for a 12 week program which I assume would be pretty generic https://mtb.fitness Interested if anybody has used any of his products? I travel extensively for work and am looking for some more structured training that I can use online and not rely on a coach too much. Cheers
