  3. That was awesome! First time I'm grateful there was nothing on TV to watch and I had to scroll through the channels looking for something. It was fantastic seeing them smiling and laughing and having a good time.
  4. Yebo! I think that's the only other Bollywood movie I ever saw. Another good one. Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk
  5. Saw Lagaan (2001) this week. "The people of a small village in Victorian India stake their future on a game of cricket against their ruthless British rulers." What a great movie to watch! I don't normally watch Bollywood movies, but this one got such great reviews and I've been on a bit of a sports movie binge, that I decided to take a chance. And I loved it! Whether you like sports movies, underdog movies, movies with good music or just simply good movies - I would recommend it. I scored it 8/10 (be warned, it's nearly 4 hours long - I ended up watching it over two evenings). http://www.downloadall.in/images/Lagaan.jpg

  15. How can anybody not love a movie with Jackie Chan and Jet Li in it?!
  16. Her dad is 71. Probably don't have to worry about him too much, right? Even though he likes to play the tough guy and has a few friends...
  17. Watching the new season of Grand Designs, which made me want to watch a few of the old episodes again. I've never really lusted after a house, but I forgot how much I liked this one: http://www.homesandproperty.co.uk/home-garden/interiors/grand-designs-series-16-kevin-mccloud-falls-for-dursley-treehouse-in-gloucestershire-a104821.html#gallery One Gloucestershire couple fulfilled a childhood dream by building a 'truly magical' 40ft-high tree house...
  18. Watched that last night! Going through a bit of a kung fu phase again, kicked off by catching the last part of Enter the Dragon on TV a couple of days ago (from that part where he beats the crap out of Jackie Chan, who was still just an unknown stuntman then). That made me want to watch The Protector again, which I've got stored in my library. Must say, Ong Bak is not bad but The Protector is definitely my favourite Tony Jaa movie. I've got Chocolate lined up for tonight and then I might watch Kung Fu Hustle again over the weekend. I also watched Man From Nowhere last night. Awesome action movie, made in South Korea, won a load of awards, definite must-watch for hardcore action fans. Good actors, got a decent story as well.
  19. We need some of that here in Centurion. Starting to feel like we live in a desert.
  20. Found this one - looks like it could be pretty good. Going to try and watch it tonight or over the weekend. "When Zin, former girlfriend of a Thai mob boss, falls for Masashi, a Japanese gangster in Thailand, the boss banishes them: Masashi to Japan, and Zin, with her small daughter Zen, to live next to a martial arts school. Zen is autistic, with uncanny swift reflexes. She watches the students next door and Muay Thai movies, absorbing every technique. She's now a teen, and her mother needs chemotherapy. Zin has taken in a chubby kid, Moom, who watches over Zen. Moom finds a ledger listing business men who owe Zin money; he goes to them one at a time to collect in order to pay for Zin's treatment. Zen, with her martial skills, becomes his enforcer. A showdown with the boss is inevitable."

  23. Of course! I think like most boys my age I was totally Bruce Lee obsessed, and watched as many kung fu movies as I could find. Got caught out a few times by those movies made by Bruce Lee impersonators, too - you know: Bruce Li, Bruce Lei, etc. As you said, some of them were pretty bad but that didn't stop me Then, as we all did, discovered Jacky Chan and watched everything he was in. Stopped watching them for a while in varsity and afterwards, as I was too busy going out and trying to find friendly girls to get drunk with Started watching watching a lot of movies again eventually a few years ago, when my brother and I got decent internet and a good home entertainment system. Then I got hooked on Jet Li, Donnie Yen, Stephen Chow... A good one I watched recently is Once Upon a Time in Shangai. In fact, it was so good I immediately went to IMDB to find out what else Philip Ng and Andy On had been in! http://image.tmdb.org/t/p/w342/50rxHfX8jdDXtnSNqBvFzqZwUbS.jpg These days I don't watch so many of the oldies anymore, except if it's a classic like Enter the Dragon or Snake in Eagle's Shadow or something like that. I prefer looking for new ones by going through the list of Hong Kong Film Award winners, for instance, and seeing if there's something that grabs my attention.
  24. Yep. Apparently being an actress who doesn't own a TV and likes to read is now enough to make Twitter and online media take offence and go batsh!t crazy. Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk
  25. Yes, I'm a big fan of Donnie Yen, so I've seen all three Ip Man movies. Loved the first one, can't really remember what happened in the second one and thought the third one was so-so. You should also check out The Grandmaster, if you haven't seen it yet. Quite beautifully shot and won a ton of awards. Stars Tony Leung as Ip Man.
