  1. Ok so thats that then i will stick with the 317 they have been solid enough so as you say if it aint broke
  2. Really does this happen i thought there was a hundred year waiting list??
  3. Thanks for that didnt know there was a difference. Another tech question. How do the 317 mavics rate compare to say the 817 or xt rims etc
  4. WHat do you mean by true tubeless? I have 317 and converted them tubeless with strip and they have been perfect. How does a true tubeless wheel differ from non true ?
  5. Classic
  6. Sorry bout that was a bit out of line but he sort of asked for it....
  7. Dude get a life they said you can keep it with the security downstairs. Thats where they keep all the guests bicycles. Its a hotel not a vida why should they have their lawn littered with bikes because you SCARED it will get stolen. If you bothered to look at the way the store the bikes you wouldve enjoyed your lunch and the bike wouldve been fine, so stop being SCARED and wake up before you start naming and shaming.
  8. Whatever still arrogant, dont guve a crap if it sits to pee
  9. Nix you dont get it so i will clarify for you. Nobody is bitching and moaning we just pointing out a few things that we found off kilter. If people want to host events surely a bit of critiscm wouldnt hurt, actually it helps the events become better and makes customers happy. Ya, R180 is steep - so if you have a problem with it, don't enter. So you do agree it is steep, vs other rides, thats all we pointed out. Dont come with your slapgat attitude that if we dont like it dont enter wake up boet customers dont like being ripped off. No goodie bag, shame - i bet you'd throw most of the stuff away anyway. Nobody gives a **** about a goodie bag it was just mentioned that for that price give the punters somethign in return, i agree goodie bags are crap i wish they would rather donate a portion of entry fees to charity than give us those goody bags but to give niks nudda for a hefty fee was a bit offsides. So they started early - so make sure you are there on time. People were there on time the traffic was crazy , but starting early knowing that people are queing to park was not lekka, You say 7 30 is the start then start at 7 30. Would you like it if you bought tickets to a concert for 8 and they started at 7 ??? Mate your attitude sucks 54km instead of 50km - the last 5km were downhill and flat - seriously??? Agreed if anyone saw the profile it was 55km all along The timing was manual, as it has been every year. Not sure it was timed i never saw anyone at the finish taking down times i hope im wrong but i never saw it. There were 4 water points, plenty of good route markings - better than some events, beautiful climbs and single track and the views are always spectacular. In my post these were non issues and i praised the route plenty If you road the race and finished it, be thankful that you could, and stop complaining about the tiny details. You have your health. -- Boet your arrogance is astounding its like me saying if you came to my restaurant and you complain about the food or service i turn to you and say you have your health and you lucky to be eating as some people cant eat so stop moaning, DOes that make it right??? Guess what keep pissing people off then there wont be an event in the future your take it or leave it attitude belongs in the dark ages.
  10. Ok Here is my rant and Rave. Firstly the Rave. Lourensford is an awesome venue, the route 55km was brilliant , great singletrack, mean climbs, crazy decents , rocky, muddy, the works a proper MTB ride. That being said , i almost missed the start due to traffic and they started early, the start was a bit of a mess but i just made it so i was happy. My biggest gripe was there was only 2 water points i saw in the beginning and at the end which wasnt good as it was a long ride but that was liveable. The fact that the race was not timed and we really got zero value for the R180 besides an awesome route would mean i am coming back again next year but it does leave a bitter taste. For that price at least give us a goodie bag or free beer and burger at the finish. Something to show for that entry fee. All in all though it was a good ride and i managed to time my finish with Stunder and Sauser, i was wondering why the chopper was following me to the finish line now i know.
  11. That looks perfect and at $1850 ill take it, where can i get it?
  12. They masochists they are also 20 years younger than me so they must pay their dues.
  13. Dont really fancy the Trek or the Giant , i actually love the Niner so thast what i might go for but the alu tall boy could be an option. I know that in a year from now the prices will be reasonable and the choices even better. So i will have to rough it on my FS 26er for a few more months
  14. Trance is considered a Trail Bike which means it has more travel 5 inches (suspension) . Its more suited for rocky long technical riding. The bikes geometry is also more relaxed IE you sit in a more upright position. An anthem is a XC (cross country bike) hwich is suited more for fast shorter distances its marginally lighter than a trance and has more agressive riding position IE you more leaned over in sort of racing mode. Anthem has 4 inches travel. Hope that helps
  15. They are awesome just way out of my budget. what does a Niner fs retail for?
  16. The Niner is very nice i like them a lot just a bit heavy, what does the SC tallboy retail for??
  17. Ok thanks guys was just wondering as i am thinking about getting a FS 29er but im not to thrilled at whats on offer in the mkt besides the Spez epic which i cannot afford there is no other FS29 er out there that i like thats, within my budget. So i guess i will give it another year when the next gen FS 29ers arrive.
  18. Does Morewood make a 29er full suspension frame?? Anybody out there know??
  19. Its a known fact around the world that roadies are rude, they soft and they have daddy issues. Mtbikers are cool, tough and have lycra issues. Now there i have said it.
  20. yeah did it last year, bottlenecking was a huge problem as the average rider had very little tech skills. this year they have split the race in 2 1 for adventure riders and 1 for race riders. maybe it will be better.
  21. Maybe there is one hell of a goodie bag
  22. My issue is this i have entered the w2w but i would prefer to ride LOTCR. So i need to sell my w2w entry and convince my partner to sell his then i can come back to Hogsback. Any hubbers keen on buying w2w team entry ??
  23. Im in for the 55km did it last year its a tough ride make no mistake. Agree that 180 SA ronds is a bit out of line, thats nearly what golfers pay, surely they can keep the price lower than that. Anyhoo at least i have an awesome ride to look forward to.
  24. 1)The main issue comes down to the negotioaton of Tv sponsorships ie what percentage goes to the teams versus the organisers etc. 2) The actual rules and regulations can now be agreed upon by the teams themselves eg use of team radios etc. 3) The management of the drug culture will now be in house this could lead to a free for all or it could actually lead to a gentlemans agreement that certain substances and practices will be tolerated and punishment or expulsion can also be swifter and transparent with an inhouse format. All in all i think its a good idea. FIFA for example have completely lost touch with what fans want from football (technology etc) and its only a mtter of time before the BIG clubs start forming their own bodies and breakaway leagues.
  25. Jonkershoek -- technical , narley , singletrack Tokai ---- Ditto Welvenpas -- Singletrack, Narley oak Valley - Fast floeing Singletrack That should keep you smiling for a while
