Cool im in the top 10 of the world greatest carbo loaders. Now i can drink and ride without guilt

I drink quite a lot so beer is part of my diet so to speak. Basically my mates have a nice liquid lunch on friday afternoons and then i ride a mtb race sat morning, i just wanted to know if the beer is really that bad or shouldnt make any difference. Im not riding for podiums i ride for fun.

If i have a couple of beers(2 or 3) the day before a tough ride how bad will the effects be come race day.

Naa that wasnt me i was just in the wrong place at wrong time it wasnt a roadblock he was just waiting on kloof rd at bottom of stairs of the trail and as i came out bam!

Last week i got pulled over by Sanparks for riding singletrack this was at 6 30 am on the bottom slopes of lions head. He wanted to hit me with R700 fine. I talked my way out of it but he warned that he will catch me again if i tried. They were parked at the s bend on kloof street so as you exit the track they get you. They dont patrol the mountain they just sit and wait for MTbers and harass us. To say i was not impresed is an understaement. Now i cant ride alone as i will be mugged and if i do ride i will get fined ... i mean wtf!!!

If i saw someone chuck his bottle or sandiwch away i would pick it up catch up to the guy and throw it at his head . hearing this makes me sick how self important people think they are.

Double your weight and work from there, so pump it up to 170 psi. That should sort it out

Paul i ride on the MTN twice a week with a group of friends. When you in town give me a call and you are welcome to join. We havent seen muggers yet but they welcome to try their luck with us. Also if you going to do just 1 ride go to tokai and you will love it. Jonkershoek is a great call also and Oak Valley about 45 mins out of town is a must do ride.

90% of the riding i do in the cape is rocky, technical stuff like jonkershoek, tokai etc So i havent felt the need for a niner yet but some of the races i enter i suppose a 29inch hardatil would be nice if it makes me go faster, or makes downhills easier etc, whats the verdict on a ful susser 29inch??

Nope didnt copy your thread just speaking my mind, not saying they going to go away alls im saying is im gonna adopt a wait and see attitude before i hand in my trusty Trance x .

Nope still not convinced.....going to wait another year or so and see when the hype dies down. After then i will make a rational call on going 29 or not. Just have a sneaking suspicion that guys are trying very hard to justify this 29er story but i could well be wrong. time will tell. In the meantime i will slum it out on my 26 full susser for now.

Im off to Clanwilliam this weekend and need to know if any hubbers are aware of any decent MTb trails in the area?? Temp will be 43 c so i need to ride early so i dont want to travel to far to a trail. I need a trail in Clanwilliam. Any help will be great.

Typical arrogant roadies, these guys are responsible for the cycling road rage out there. In CT all over these pricks ride like they own the road. Once i gave a quick hoot at 3 guys riding abreast as i needed to overtake and when i started moving past them one of them slapped my passenger window. My 3 year old daughter was in the back seat and lucky for them i didnt want to cause a scene in front of her. But if she wasnt in the car i wouldve slammed my brakes in front of them then taken my shambok and given the dick a jolly good whipping. These guys make me ashamed to call myself a cyclist.

I ride to win i hate riding but i love winning . I havent won anything yet but im going to get the bestest 293er out there and surely now i can win. My luck as i get a 29er they will bring out 31ers

I have a 26fs and my long time riding buddy just got a 29er fs . he doesnt shut up about it, i think its cause he has to justify his decision or mayble its that good. All i know is i love my bike and i love riding and whatever makes anyone happy so be it. If the 29technology actually is better or not still up for debate as we have seen. Who knows maybe in a couple of years i might get a 29 er maybe not. What im trying to say is at most of our level of riding that is all of us on the hub the bike is not the one holding us back its our skills and ability that dont match our bikes, so i doubt a 29er will make us any better or faster than we are at the moment.
