  1. Looking to get a road bike. Im 5 ft 8 not sure what frame size to get. %4cm ? I ride a small MTB but could ride a meduim sort of borderline small/medium mtb.
  2. Rocky 4 wouldve kicked rocky 2 ass
  3. At the argus this year im riding behind this twat who just chucked his energade bottle in the bush by misty cliffs. I lost my temper rode up to him and vloeked him like like a mad man on tik. Rest assured he will think twice before he chucks his kuk on the rd again
  4. Must admit the water points on that hot day were excellent so much food and variety very nice. The heat was tough and the singletrack was cool. Are there any results posted anywhere?
  5. That would probably be the right thing to do. I have been very slack as of late with my bike maintenance maybe its the bikes way of telling me to wake up.
  6. Dingle track is like single track just a bit better
  7. I Have 160 mm rotors with slx brakes, i have changed the pads a few times and i bought xtr pads about 4 months ago. My original pads never made a sopund, these ones i use now are so noisy people get a fright and its really making my downhill dingletrack experience a horrid affair. The squeal like a mutilated goose. Its torture...HOw can i fix this...new pads if so which ones or new brakes?? I have a trance x2 and i ride a lot of hectic downhill etc so i need stopping power but at the moment i would rather crash than use my brakes its that bad.
  8. im in looks like a scorcher so 7am is nice start
  9. they are heavier and more expensive thats why
  10. dont get a 29er they not as good as 26ers........................
  11. Thanks splat i will get right on them
  12. I have had my trance x2 2009 for 3 years and ive ridden it everywhere and ive ridden it hard. I have replaced chain, casette, brake pads and gear cables but thats it, everything else has been rock solid. I have crashed many times and the bike keeps on trucking, i wouldnt hesitate for a second to buy another trance x. Only reason i wont is i dont like the new frame on the 2011 trance it look right. But dragons do need to defend themselves as its not cool to just ignore issues like this.
  13. Im basically trying to avoid the schlep factor, want to drop the bike at someone arrive at venue and hop on bike.
  14. I have magaed to finally get into teh Sani2C and i live in Cape Town. Are there any bike transport services in Cape Town that will courier my bike to the venue in Sani ??
  15. I Know i will ride on the black path by beach rd parallel to the prom
  16. That would be nice but my major problem with that is my male staffie is pretty agressive to other dogs so i wouldnt want him on a long leash , he is the one that will pull sideways if i get to close to another dog , hence why i like this spring system as he is close by and cant go far. Also to ride with one hand wouldnt be a good idea. I just hope this spring system is strong enough to contain him when he sees red and charges sideways , my female is an angel she could ride with me on a piece of string need to control the psyco killer.
  17. First off i live in Cape town not Jozi so i have many areas where i can ride/run them ..eg promenade , table mtn road , table mtn off rd etc. I am still sceptical if this could work as my hounds are very strong so i will need to test it out somewhere first. But if it does work it will save me many minutes and make my the beasts very happy
  18. Yeah thanks Droo thats the one i saw. Apparently if the dog jerks sideways you dont feel a thing on the bike....apparently. To all the other smart alecs i wouldnt just tie my dogs to the bike im a bit crazy but not stupid. First bird/cat/dog/squirrel/ they see i would be dragged 50 m. I will try this as i cant run these dogs every day and im bored of the regular walks also i need to tire them out otherwise my marraige is toast. The excess energy for chewing/digging/eating etc is putting a strain on Mrs F.
  19. I am looking to buy a dog leash type contraption/bracket with spring to run my dogs on my MTB. I have 2 staffies that are very powerful and i cant just tie them to the bike as the first dog they see will have me and my bike dragged down the rd. Apparently i saw at the Argus expo last year someone selling a bracket for a bike with a spring on it that absorbs the dogs energy when they suddenly bolt in a direction. Does anyone know of this product or have any suggestions for me.
  20. Spoke to the Giant rep in Europe. In Europe they sell 4 trance for every anthem in SA they sell 6 anthems for every trance. Says the SA dudes are very race focused whereas in USA and Europe am/trail is the most popular form of the sport.
  21. Seal Island in false bay is a nice place to swim
  22. Basically i decide whats cool, when im on mTb im cool and you roadie snobs suck the dogs bollocks, when im on my road bike you mtbikers are seriously uncool and not worthy of a greeting.
  23. You will hate it!! Are u mad!! Who has been telling you this?? Traitor!! Will be the biggest mistake of your life??? Dont say i didnt tell u so!
