I believe its because you have weak core muscles. Core is different to stomach muscles. Do plenty core excercises for 3 weeks and see how you go, it worked for me.

Trance is the king of the trail

Go with the Anthem its tried and tested and good at everything. Alteranativly look at a Specialized s works or maybe if u lucky i think some, chap was selling an Ibis which is the bees knees

I got bitten by a dog at the bottom of the blockhouse climb in Vredehoek. The old lady had 3 dogs looked like ridgebacks i came riding around the corner the dog charged me and sunk his freakin teeth in my thigh. Was not happy i swore at the old bat to leash the animal up otherwise i wouldve bashed the canines head in with a rock. Had a tetnis shot which hurt like hell.

Why dont u just get a trance x, its great value for money, has the relaxed riding style , awesome on downhills. i had the same anthem as you a 2008 anthem 1 i switched to a 2009 tance x2 it was the best move i ever made. The trance is also very tough on the mudbath that was the gravel Travel my trance just kept on going like a tank. Might be a tad slower than the anthem but for ana vergae rider it makes zero difference, its a way more comfy ride.

My first MTb race was wolsely with my new MTb and cleats . I proudly rode over to the registration table and stopped to fill in the entry forms when i noticed to my horror that my feat were in cleats. Falling in front of the whole damn field before the race was not cool

i had the crossmarks lust thought they were average at everything but good at nothing. Got the kenda Nevgals now theyare more resistant but have awesome grip. Used them in the mud as the paarl rotary and they were brilliant. If u want grip and traction the nevgals are where its at.

Tank i ahve owned both and from what u saying about comfy 50km and technical go for the trance. the anthem is awesome if u are a race snake but the trance is so much more comfortable and munches the technical stuff

I have owned both an anthem and a trance and this is the bottom line. if you like to race and are a strong competitive rider the amthem is a better machine. if you want to enoy trails and ride a comfortable machine that can soak up anything a trail throws at it the trance is your bike. I really enjoyed my anthem but after switching to the trance i couldnt be happier its a bit slower on the climbs but is much more comfortable and forgiving to ride i also can ride longer rides in comfort v the anthem. Hope that helps mate...
