  1. Thanks. Got a pair, trying them for Hill 2 Hill unless I get something I like more. These remind me a bit of the Maxxis Crossmark which I really like.
  2. Fast Trak Lk Control 2Bliss TyreWORLD-CLASS XC RACE PERFORMANCE - HARDPACK TO INTERMEDIATE CONDITIONS Even the best mountain bikers in the world need a large volume tyre that rolls fast, and the Fast Trak LK is that tyre. With a 30% reduction in knob height from the original model, t Details I would like to use these tubeless. Anyone using them, how do you rate them. Weight , grip etc.
  3. Hi Mud dee, where did you see that insert?
  4. What will a set of these set you back, for the wheels and tyres and do you put stan's or no tubes in?
  5. Don't know the exact weight advantage but definately lighter. The idee of the cabling in a protective sleeve and then in the housing I like and think these will last a long time. Just had to adjust at the barrell at the RD no need to pull cable. When you fit just turn adjuster almost fully in to give you enough adjustment. Mine I only needed to turn about a three quarter turn to get it perfect.
  6. Been riding one for over a month, and know a friend (hefty chap) who has been riding the same for over two years.
  7. I put them on last week, gear and brake and they are great.Shifting is perfect , they are lighter and looks really good too.Had to adjust tension at rear der after first ride, but that you do with any new cables anyway.
  8. Great looking bike. I ride the 2008 model. Prior to that I had the 2006 also with ISP and never had a problem with selling it. Keep in mind , if you ride a med frame you're not exactly going to sell it to a guy over 6 foot. Therefore the 2 inches adjustment is within reason for selling it to someone riding a med. Unless you ride a med that's too big and you cut the seat post abnormally low.
  9. Cytomax.Because it tastes good. For recovery, Supermoo or Super M chocolate flavour. Pre race meal - Pronutro, lots of milk.
  10. Hi Bobby I will be there as well. You can count me in.
  11. One for the clever guys. Why do most guys run a Shimmano XT front derailer with SRAM X0 shifters and SRAM X0 rear derailer? This instead of the SRAM X9 front derailer.

  15. Also have a look at the following site https://www.fenix-store.com/index.php?cPath=25_66 They sell great flashlights, but never seen the brackets in real life.
  16. If you know your LBS you get get it around R24k.I had a look at the Schwinn as well. But there was a huge weight and component difference. Stock standard out of the box this weigh in at 9.35 kg including pedals.
  17. I agree, but shopped around and value for money, it was very hard to beat this baby. The GT came in at about R36000 and the Giant very similar.Even on the DS I think the Mongoose is very good value.

  20. Has anyone tested or bought the new Gator 105,305 or 605 rechargeable light system. Any comments on value for money, functioning, battery life etc will be highly appreciated.
  21. Bring back the death penalty, but not by electrical chair. The waiting list will be to high. Imagine ... load shedding wait your turn scumbag.
  22. Have been waiting for a front skewer that is faulty on a brand new Ksyrium SL. Sorry out of stock. That has been now for two months.I am busy putting an order together and will import it. Same story with Omnico.I ordered a new Easton EC90 slX bar from my local bike shop.I have been waiting for about a month now. They have given me tracking no's on two ocasions and confirmed that it will definately be here on the 19 th of December. When I phoned they informed me that they were out of stock and don't know when they will have again. Why couldn't they just say that right from the start.Guess what ? Bars will also be imported.I feel very sorry for the LBS that have to deal with this crap.

    no helmet

Hi Linnega I see you often on our club ride on weekends (coming back from Inchanga when we go out).If you were so against it,why are you always wearing a helmet when I see you ? As a matter of fact I have never seen you without one. Just wondering
  24. I used to ride 172.5 mm cranks and then tried 175 mm on my new bike.I am 1.74 m tall and must admit that I prefer the longer cranks. It was almost like having an extra gear.I was a little concerned about knee pain but have been on the new bike for about a month now and nothing what so ever. Someone told me that I will have trouble with my cadence(keeping it up )on steep climbs but I haven't experienced that either.I ride a 11-23 cluster on training and a 12-25 on race day.
  25. The whole BMI thingy doesn't work for me either.I am 1.74 m tall, weigh 78 kg,have a body fat percentage (done by caliper on 6 skinfolds) of 9.5% and my BMI still indicates that I am over weight. My simple rule is that you must burn more calories than what you put in. I started cycling 3 years ago and dropped from 103kg to now 78 kg normal weight and 75 kg racing weight.I eat and drink whatever I want to but as soon as my weight goes up by more than 2 kg's I will cut back on what I eat for a day or two. I train between 10 and 14 hours a week.
