  1. This topic has probably been discussed before, but I have just moved up from Hillcrest Durban and would like to join a riding group in the area. I stay in Rynfield close to the Lynmed hospital. Anyone knows of group rides in the area.Times and places they meet. Thank you .
  2. I use it for everything as well. Buy it in 25l from Autoserv. Have been using it for the last 5 years on all my bikes and cars.
  3. I can aggree. Had a similar issue and he replaced my split sachets. I bought little plastic containers from a camping shop.Works much better than the sachets and no need or temptation to litter.
  4. "The ones that I think suck are Mavericks and Bring it On Cycles.. I dunno, I found them to be very unfriendly and a bit dodge to take your bike for a service, especially from Bring it On.." Funny how one experience service.I only service my bike at Bring It On,have bought 2 MTB's,one road bike and two kiddies bikes from them.Whenever I felt like I was hard done by,I mentioned it and the problem was solved. One of the only bike shops that really go out of their way to do organized rides for the members as well.
  5. Maybe the wrapper droppers should consider a little plastic container to put the gel in. These can be re - used and comes in different sizes. I bought some from a camping shop. Some take 2 gels, and others up to five. These are very handy to operate and you don't leave anything behind in the wrapper.(any gel)
  6. It is supposed to help sore knees, but from my experience, I get sore knees from too much float. I tried the Look and Egg beaters and didn't work for me.Egg Beaters are launching a new pedal with no float, but I ride DA pedals on my road bike with red cleats and XTR's on the MTB with lots of tension and the black cleats.
  7. Only did the sat ride, had to go and watch the Bulls trash the Sharks. Lots of single track and enough climbing in the beginning. Last 10 km lovely down hill and loads of single tack. Very well organised and another thumbs up for ROAG and the organisers.
  8. Hi Stu Met you last night at the KZN cycling meeting. Hope we can look into possibilities to incorporate your system with road racing as well. Job well done. Looking forward to the Greytown race this weekend (Luckily no KZN - champs at the same time)
  9. Does she travel to Durbs
  10. Mine also wrong. I entered as a licenced vet(VB) and got into the R bunch starting at 8h30 or something. They told me yesterday they will sort it out and get back to me, but still have not heard anything. oclv1102009-01-21 05:22:27
  11. You must make sure it is negotiated beforehand
  12. Velotex not bad either
  13. By the way, was in Dischem Hillcrest yesterday and selling price was R10.99.
  14. I purely buy Wasp gels because they work. I have tried and tested all the others, and the things standing out for me is: Taste - not overpowering sweet. Kick - no other gel is so effective so quickly (and the boost lasts for a fair time.) Easy digestible - It is like drinking a liquid. Doesn't get stuck in your throat and repeat itself for two days after your race. And by the way, the Green Mamba (100mg caffiene) is a monster. Drink it, and you will notice what a gel is supposed to do.
  15. Must agree with all of you. K.k stuff, done it got the t shirt, but they will never catch me again.
  16. I fitted these to my roadbike about a month ago. Initially no problem. Then I started experiencing problems with my brakes. The farrel that goes into the lever, didn't fit 100% which caused the see through lining to fold and then not release the break. Then the shifters started giving problems too. (not shifters but shifter cables) Then my LBS informed me that these are now stretched and need replacement. Well honestly, I have never had to replace Shimmano cables after less than one month. I have tried to contact the local agent, but they keep on telling me that they will get back to me. Needless to say. Goodbye bling hallo original shimmano.(At a quarter of the price)
  17. What about the Toyota test centre where we had Natal Champs TT?
  18. My dietitian informed me that with my normal protein intake it is too much already. She is cutting (trying too) back to 400 gr per day. So no need for me to use protein powder.Funny thing is that according to her my carb intake is too low. She has given me a diet where I actually eat more than what I currently do ( but the right combinations) Need to loose bodyfat from 11.8% to between 7 - 8 %.
  19. At least you got up Fox Hill. I went and warmed up and as I was about to roll down to the start(4 km out) when I heard that dreaded noise of a tubby going down. Had a record time back to Durbs. About one and half hrs (in the car).
  20. Me too linnega. Just think that you will be able to set up your gears much better. Investigate further and tell us more.
  21. To get back to the topic, I agree. Think they look cool. Have a pair of Rudy's, I think its called the sports mask and I love them. Have the racing red lenses and use them for early morning rides as well.Light and very comfortable.
  22. If your BB have a spacer, you take that out.
  23. I use it currently on a MTB hardtail. Done about five races on it and perfectly fine. Don't know my model but I think the weight is 140 gr.Will check model tonight and give you feedback. As far as what I know they don't have off - centre versions.
  24. Just replace bearings on Ksyrium SL yesterday. (on the back wheel) It takes 3 bearings. 2 x 608-2rsh (skf) 1 x 6903 DDUCM (NSK) All available from bearing man.The total cost for all 3 is R140.00.Surely cheaper than a new wheelset.
  25. Hey Big Ben,does that mean they good or not. The ones I got is not UST but it says it is 2Bliss tubeless ready. What does that mean?. And if anyone knows, are they lighter than Crossmarks?
