  1. I based my current bike almost purely on looks. Everytime I walk past it in the garage...I stop for a bit and just stare...drool a bit...and then make whateva excuse necessary to ride it Bikes are expensive and therefore must look good to you. Luckily we all have different tastes though. Mine did come with good components though...certainly makes the decision easier. Good luck with the decision.
  2. Bottom line...they are selling counterfeit products, which is illegal.
  3. Hey Surferchild, no problem at all. Glad I could help out! Besides I only did it because you were riding such an awesome bike???? That wind completely killed me today. Knocked my confidence a bit.
  4. The new Dura Ace 9000 is just so silky smooth its scary. I ended up going with the new Sram Red on my Sworks, and my brother for Dura Ace 9000...don't tell him i said this, but I'd swap tomorrow I always had a yearning for Sram Red. It's just looks incredible. But noisy and clunky compared to Shimano.
  5. When's the next night ride?
  6. Where is the best and cheapest place to buy a Specialized mtb bike in Johannesburg? Also what model is the best option. I want a 29er full suspension, carbon.
  7. Hi Can someone please give some advice on what's needed to service my Fox F-series RL 32 fork? It's not that I'm being a cheapskate or anything by not taking it and getting it professionally serviced, but rather that I've heard it's not hard to do and something that should be done a lot more often than I thought, so learning to do it myself makes more sense. Do I need just the wiper kit, or is there something else to? Any advice would be great.
  8. Unfortunately my experience was a little different. Went in there about 6 months ago looking for a Dogma. Not sure the guys name I spoke to, but I'm still waiting for my phone call letting me know if the colour I wanted was in stock at ASG...needless to say I went elsewhere and will continue to do so.
  9. I'm getting them too...haven't entered any of those events.
  10. Agreed...and there prices are great
  11. Oh brilliant when and what channel?
  12. Nice one RIDE...
  13. Me personally...carbon fibre with 105
  14. According to my Garmin...103km
  15. I have the 3 bike one and it doesn't really rock at all. Fairly stable if you ask me.
  16. I see Powerbalance had a stall there
  17. Marshals were great...
  18. Use mine all the time...but do tend to grab the odd branch
  19. 2:20
  20. I enjoyed the race. Preferred the old route...but accept it was a logistical nightmare. Saw a few really nasty accidents which always puts a dampner on it! Agreed, getting to the parking was a pain in the arse! I too have a 4 x 4, but would've been a bit miff if I didn't. I was in C group, and they let the group go before half of us were even on the start line. So lost the leaders straight from the get go. Bit disappointing to say the least. Still had fun...as always

    Fatties

I'm sure it's got do with the strength and weight trade off of carbon fibre.
  22. Absolutely terrible news...so sad! According to the news, Andrew McLean said it wasn't the truck drivers fault. Her power meter fell off the bike and she turned round to pick it up, into the path of the truck. RIP Carla.
