Protest will help nothing and thinking the police will do anything is living in a dream world. PPA should engage with local government and get private security at hotspots off the ground.

Why does PPA just not contract a security company in like ADT and station them at a hotspot area on weekends for example, Kayamandi, foot of helshoogte as a start. I happily pay extra on my PPA membership for that to happen. To wait for the police to action any type of plan ain’t going to happen.

No water or cokes at finish. Very poor. I know it is covid, but for R12000 entry fee they could have had bottled water at finish.

Organizers got the starting order completely wrong with the tandems starting behind the vets 50+.We caught the group in Simonstown and caused chaos and effectively changing the whole race for both bunches. Eventually causing a crash at Misty Cliffs.

Also did the long route. Bad marking caused nearly half the A bunch to go the wrong way. Our group did an extra 18km. Riders landed up in town not knowing where to go. A bakkie from the organisers escorted us 6km back to where the turn was and all of a sudden there was a bakkie, big board and a Marshall standing by that turn directing other riders. Not impressed.

Good luck in trying to do a warranty claim. My road bike frame cracked after 5 months....local supplier gone....Felt International declined the claim. Think twice before buying this brand in the future.

We had 2 traffic cop cars ahead of us and 2 motorbikes next to us.Would have been easy for the cops to pull the cars off up front, for the 20 sec it takes us to pass. This is farmlands, not in between houses. Second price would be for the comm to find a way to DQ offenders. But there lies the problem, the comms do not know how to do this. Half the bunch did nothing wrong, half the bunch is in the wrong, oh well, lets DQ everybody.

Guess the commisaire wanted to get home early. No warning at all. 21. Penalties and disqualifications procedures Immediate disqualification will be applicable for the following transgressions: i. Crossing the centre line (commissaires to apply some discretion) The worst is the back half is the offenders.The comms should be using the motorbikes to DQ the riders crossing the line. Anyways guess we are in for a few more DQ races. Cant wait for the Light to Linea races to start.

The time on the official result is correct for Hot Chillee, we parked next to them in the feed zone and we left three minutes after them, because that was the time we needed to make up on them for 2nd place.

We caught Hot Chillee at the 195km mark and they did have six riders. They still came sprinting past us when we turned left at the finish.

So with ongoing spat between PPA and CSA will their be a league this season?

I would like to know why PPA has taken back the league from Cyclelab this season? Cyclelab had a sponsor for the league, Aca Joe, what has happened to this sponsor?

Medscheme forced the 12 man split as the riders turned right by Slangkop / Kommetjie. We were the 2nd chasing bunch, in our group there were 5 MTN riders (including Kevan Evans) and 4 DCM Chrome riders who were taking up the chase all the way to the finish. Astana?

How about the Argus Cycle Tour, there is no price money for any vets category. You would think that for a race of this status, they would have something?

Specialized also replaced my frame a while back when it cracked, no problem. Keep it up guys, this is the type of service that will definitely influence peoples decision when purchasing a new bike. Also a big thanks to John at Willie Engelbreght Cycles for the excellent service!

Mr Selector, anyone that knows anything about vets racing will know that there is a superseries running at the moment for vets. The super series is currently all over South Africa. Riders who are serious about racing, travel at their own expense to compete in these races against the best and for what?. How can you possibly select an SA Squad based on one races result... . Surely you should have looked at other results. Surely you could have picked up a phone and asked Carinus or Andrew for their input?

I think PPA should start by trying to get rolling road closure for the elites as this is where the problem lies. This is by far to most competitive category. If PPA does not know how to go about this, I am sure GL will be able to tell assist them, if he's willing. With a police vehile and a leading vechile in front of the group, any traffic coming from the opposite direction could be ask to pull off the road for 1 minute untill the group has passed and then continue on its way. The bunch could also escorted by a motor cycle to keep riders in check. This worked so well at TDB, I just cannot understand why they cannot try and implement this at leaque races.
