Misunderstood about the guy with the collarbone, didn't realise he was in your bunch. To be honest didn't really see what shirt he was wearing, so can't say. That headwind was shitty, but would take a headwind over the maniacs we had to deal with last year! Strange that there are less finishers on Racetec than last year yet it felt like we were more. Maybe it was all the MTBs without chips that caused that.

Yeah, pulled away in CL. Climbed onto a massive bunch from home affairs till Glen. Just as we hit a downhill on the N1 some guy in the middle of the bunch had a massive Wipeout, luckily took no one else out, but he crashed right next to me and it was gruesome. Was that not the guy with the broken collarbone possibly? Glen was also a stuff up with that bridge and the condition of the road before it, but luckily made it through alright! At least the stretch through the Township was better than last year!

Yip, everything starts to add up and get too expensive eventually. Laws of supply and demand are a painful reminder that what your think is a bullet proof plan can turn belly up at any time. . . Bet if they lowered the price they would sell more, however they can't really do that without losing credibility for the prices that are and were being charged.

Presume general state of economy doesn't help things. Some people just can't justify the luxury anymore

And that's what part of what makes it awesome for me, it's just so beautiful. Hell, the only reason I hate Pure Savage's constant photos on Instagram is because I'm jealous that they get to ride that route all year round. And the vibe. For someone whose first ever race was last year's Argus, bear in mind 4 week's after being told I have to ride, with no experience and having never ridden with clipless pedals before, it's the vibe that got me hooked. We all suffer the climbs together, we all freak out at the speeds we achieve downhill. It's just leka.

I see this thread repeating itself over and over for the next few months. . . Every week we have some useful discussion about the race, some jokes about the wind, then someone who hasn't bothered to read the previous 25 pages of discussion proceeds to post his: "But won't the protestors just do it again???". The truth is we won't and don't know until the day. I presume we will continue to speculate, and I presume I will probably get flamed again for posting this again, but I will keep posting it every few weeks as the general trend seems to be to hate on the Argus, and I feel like some positivity is needed in this thread. It's a great race, hell I have only managed to do it once and I fell in love.

Here's hoping it's as amazing a day as it was for my first one in 2016!!!
