  1. Trek updated their arrivals, wife’s bike still arriving 20 December, mine now arriving 10 January. Guess mid January is gonna be an awesome time! Just not for my wallet
  2. Apologies, was just referring to the black plastic piece, not the actual number board haha
  3. On a side note, we could potentially use the number board holders to mount those pesky CTCT bike boards as they don't fit so well on the handlebars when you have Garmin in place. Or does CTCT frown upon that.
  4. Race was good. Will bring some flat roads with from the Free State next time as there didn’t appear to be any in Joburg if the route is anything to judge by. As an out of towner figuring out which route to use to get to the start had me using all of my mental capacity on Saturday night, but worked out fine in the end. Race was good and the organisation exceptional from what we experienced. The loading board was super helpful. CTCT would do good with bringing that back again. One thing that I found strange was that the aggro that was missing from the CTCT appeared to rears its ugly head a little bit. Was riding at one point in the left hand lane of the 3 lane highway and some idiot shouted at my wife and myself to keep left, when his group rolled through at speed within handlebar touching distance of us. There was NO ONE to our right. So not sure why we had to keep more left then we were. Besides that, can’t complain, will just put in an order for less wind next year.
  5. Saw an elite ride absolutely eat the proverbial excrement as we were heading out. When we got back they had found half a meter of rubber and lots of red tape and made it a hit safer however I feel considering how well they did with all the other potential issues this diepsloot that they missed feels a bit odd
  6. Doing the 94.7 for the first time this year, despite LWB telling me its shite. Curiosity has got the better of me. Would normally do amashova, but since it didn’t happen this year(Durban to Pinetown and back is NOT amashova) we decided to try the 947. As to the CTCT vs 947, I have never heard anyone say: “Hey, let’s go on holiday for a week to Joburg!”
  7. Considering it has been the norm for many a year, with very little view to change despite what we may say on here, it would probably mean it is the standard and any deviation from this is just that, an exception. While I agree that it would be better, there are probably a myriad of reasons as to why they keep doing it like this, some we may not be aware of. Unfortunately we can't seem to change things even on this forum, so complaining about something on a platform that the organisers may or may not see is a waste of time.
  8. And next year probably too?
  9. I'm sure this means normal bank cards as well as long as it has a CVV number? Had no problem with my Cheque card
  10. Entered! Number 5 here I come. Number 13 for my wife and possible number 14 for the father in law should he start training again. (LWB, please don't come destroy our humble numbers with your over achieving tendencies)
  11. Good grief, that frame just doesn't sit well with me. . . .
  12. Bad News . . . Larges arriving 21 February. That's 4 months away. Plus they got a R5000 price boost and changed components from SRAM to Shimano. Wife's was supposed to arrive mid November, now only end December. So much for riding on the South Coast this holiday
  13. It was very different to see the countryside driving down looking so green, while the Free state looks still very much like our farmers favourite colour shirts
  14. Entries are also limited to 22,500, at least its an increase from this year, need some bunches to hide in next year
  15. Entries open next week: R650 entry fee > 2 November, 1pm: Paid-up PPA and Club 21 members: > 5 November, 1pm: All 2021 entrants. > 8 November, 1pm: General entries
  16. Phoned half of Joburg and the one shop in Bloem and got no luck finding it in black in Large. But will just wait for the back order to arrive. If my wife’s arrives mid November as promised then I am optimistic mine will arrive in December before we go to the coast.
  17. Seeded in F but dropping back to H, so will hunt you down like last year CTCT haha
  18. Have two Trek Top Fuel 7s on back order, wife’s is arriving next month and mine in December, so good luck finding stock. Also had a massive dig around at this price range and ended up going with the Treks!
  19. Apparently you can make pronutro with cold milk, it just require double the amount of milk as normal, so more or less 3 litres for a single serving
  20. I see the date for 2022 is out, 13 March! Time to start digging for accommodation! Think we will try sea point area this time!
  21. Not sure how anyone is supposed to push over the last bit of Suikerbossie without the Virgin Active crew cheering you on, looking forward to that return!
  22. Wife got a push up suikerbossie a couple of years back and finished without her phone.
  23. We were right at the back of 5E, only realised afterwards had we been 5 min later we would have missed the group. the Marshals at E we’re definitely useless. 3 guys from 6D almost talked there way into starting with 5E, took them way too long to figure it out
  24. Presuming the time slot is for the hour. Not sure how strict they will be. We booked for 9am and when we got here the 8am crowd hadn’t gone in yet. #slowstart
