  1. Hey, there is already a thread discussing this. Have given a lot of suggestions for Bike Transport https://forum.bikehub.co.za/topic/190001-cape-town-cycle-tour-2022/page/27
  2. So, often see fellow hubbers posting about accommodation that they rent out in Cape Town, so anybody who still has availability, please PM me details, I would like to support fellow hubbers if possible.
  3. Having a facebook livestream today at 1pm. May shed more light on any questions. Ever since i have done the race in 2016, each even numbered year has had fantastic weather in March, so here's hoping that tradition continues.
  4. Or the Board that is zip tied to your handlebars.
  5. Haha, usually the bottle says Cape Town Cycle Tour on it, and is usually brandished heavily in the Free State in the months after the race as a mark of honour. Think any sort of Cape Epic swag.
  6. Yeah, but it wasn't an "Argus" bottle. How will people know i did the race if i don't have a bottle to show off?
  7. yeah, for about 18 months or so
  8. Just glad there is no more curfew, makes driving through the night to Cape Town easier
  9. Ja neh, usually we have a year to refinance the cycle tour budget, 5 months makes things painful
  10. 2 months to go today. Time to warm the thread back up. Are we getting goodie bags this year? Is the tour going to sell out?
  11. Awesome, my wife's Top Fuel 7 is lying at the shop and waiting for my Large in Black to arrive! Can't wait!
  12. No worries, i was aware that the green came into stock awhile back, but since i had already been waiting so long, I might as well wait for the ones that we ordered.
  13. Been waiting 3 months for my Top Fuel 7, so yes stock is a problem. My wife's arrived in SA last week, just waiting for mine to come now, Might arrive end of January, but who knows. Sprocket and Jack in Joburg have been fantastic with their communication during this whole process i must admit, try to keep me happy for over 3 months now has definitely been a challenge.
  14. Trek updated their arrivals, wife’s bike still arriving 20 December, mine now arriving 10 January. Guess mid January is gonna be an awesome time! Just not for my wallet
  15. Apologies, was just referring to the black plastic piece, not the actual number board haha
  16. On a side note, we could potentially use the number board holders to mount those pesky CTCT bike boards as they don't fit so well on the handlebars when you have Garmin in place. Or does CTCT frown upon that.
  17. Race was good. Will bring some flat roads with from the Free State next time as there didn’t appear to be any in Joburg if the route is anything to judge by. As an out of towner figuring out which route to use to get to the start had me using all of my mental capacity on Saturday night, but worked out fine in the end. Race was good and the organisation exceptional from what we experienced. The loading board was super helpful. CTCT would do good with bringing that back again. One thing that I found strange was that the aggro that was missing from the CTCT appeared to rears its ugly head a little bit. Was riding at one point in the left hand lane of the 3 lane highway and some idiot shouted at my wife and myself to keep left, when his group rolled through at speed within handlebar touching distance of us. There was NO ONE to our right. So not sure why we had to keep more left then we were. Besides that, can’t complain, will just put in an order for less wind next year.
  18. Saw an elite ride absolutely eat the proverbial excrement as we were heading out. When we got back they had found half a meter of rubber and lots of red tape and made it a hit safer however I feel considering how well they did with all the other potential issues this diepsloot that they missed feels a bit odd
  19. Doing the 94.7 for the first time this year, despite LWB telling me its shite. Curiosity has got the better of me. Would normally do amashova, but since it didn’t happen this year(Durban to Pinetown and back is NOT amashova) we decided to try the 947. As to the CTCT vs 947, I have never heard anyone say: “Hey, let’s go on holiday for a week to Joburg!”
  20. Considering it has been the norm for many a year, with very little view to change despite what we may say on here, it would probably mean it is the standard and any deviation from this is just that, an exception. While I agree that it would be better, there are probably a myriad of reasons as to why they keep doing it like this, some we may not be aware of. Unfortunately we can't seem to change things even on this forum, so complaining about something on a platform that the organisers may or may not see is a waste of time.
  21. And next year probably too?
  22. I'm sure this means normal bank cards as well as long as it has a CVV number? Had no problem with my Cheque card
  23. Entered! Number 5 here I come. Number 13 for my wife and possible number 14 for the father in law should he start training again. (LWB, please don't come destroy our humble numbers with your over achieving tendencies)
  24. Good grief, that frame just doesn't sit well with me. . . .
