  2. PS, its also no accident that the trainer is setup close to the door...solid wifi signal is a must for online races
  3. ja nee...you can go full retard with flat screen etc etc....but lets face it, even if you had the moola for all the toys you need to convince your wife which aint gonna happen. Portable....that is what i was after
  4. I see them as different things. TrainerRoad is the focused / structured application. Bkool / Zwift / Virtual Training is on the fun / social side. Both have their uses. I am currently on trainerroad....very good app. Ticks all the boxes
  5. you might loose a couple of watts through shock movement but its neither here nor there since it will be consistently loose x watts. Its more important to always train on the dual sus if you have done your ftp test on it.
  6. can't see why not....
  7. Not really...sure its a considerable investment but I would wager to say the hardcore cyclist probably prefer old school rollers and invest in power meters on the bikes themselves rather than in trainers Smart trainers allows to weekend warrior to do indoor training without it becoming mind numbing. The nice thing about these smart / ergo trainers are that they integrate with apps like trainerroad which gives you one stop shop ito tech and training plans All you have to do is buy a smart trainer, sign up with trainerroad, choose your goal(mtb event / tri / road events) and off you go. Based on your ftp test it will adjust its base, build and specialty phases workouts for your desired outcome. Lets say you want to do go from zero to Sani2c ready. You can choose a base fitness phase of 6 weeks, 8 week short power phase and 8 week mtb marathon speciality phase program. That will ensure you will get the most bang for your buck considering the time you spend training. It will add the workouts to a calendar and adjust the zones as you get stronger while you are progressing. Checkit https://www.trainerroad.com/cycling/plans
  8. Tacx...wont touch it...I know they trying to change their ways(horrendous aftermarket support and closed systems) but little too late. Kickr has been the king for the last couple of years...purely because of of the dual broadcasting tech and compatibility with apps. The hammer looks it will take the title now given the price and tech. Unless wahoo has an ace up their sleeve
  9. The dual BLE and Ant is step forward from cyclops. Wonder when the rainmaker's review will be out
  10. right of admission reserved
  11. waaahaaaa dont hold any punches oom...but ja you right...less spruit more suffering.

  16. Easy Action and consequence
  17. Imagine doping was a criminal offence...or sponsors could lay some form of charge...wonder how many dopers we will have?
  18. same here...its a simple solution to a problem.
  19. aikona....he is a professional, the rest of us are cyclists.....amateurs The same way I cook the books on my monthly excel spreadsheet to be able to afford that new hope brakeset will land me at worst on the couch for a evening, if I had to do the same in a professional capacity at a company...its fraud
  20. Good question but lets stick with one crime like fraud(which is closest to doping if you think about it) Would you hire a previously convicted fraudster to do your books or work at your company....probably not. If you have a criminal record you have a zero to tokkol chance to get a job in my company due to screening procedures. So those are paying the price for the rest of their lives ito getting jobs....shouldn't professional cyclists as well? They made the choice, there is a consequence.
  21. I am with you when it comes to convictions, you can't ban someone based on hearsay..the "airtight" part is a bit grey though...what is airtight? seems like its opinion rather than fact. If the doping agencies find someone guilty that should the end of the story or airtight if you will....Every doper(except ol DG) had some violin music / victimization as part of their defense but in the end, they were still sanctioned ie guilty....they are dopers no matter which way you cut it. Basically it should end with the conclusion made by the doping agency. I appreciate the stance some of the races are taking and to show this I will support them, and them only...I think the root issue is money and recognition as pointed out by Eldron. If the consequence of doping is to be banned for life from races where you receive these it will surely act as a deterrent for okes thinking about it.
  22. lol...no actually I didnt, but I have popped a diaphragm before when doing a ghetto bleed so I know how easy it is to make a perfectly working brakeset fubar. If someone doesnt have the tools, know how, materials or someone to show them(youtube makes stuff look easy) I think better advice would be to take it to a lbs...its well worth the money.
  23. Due their stance I am considering doing j2c 2017. Support the races that do, and will not support the race that don't take this stance. Actually screw it...I am not considering it. I am doing it
