  1. Hold on...cutting lines too short, damaging pistons when trying to push them back with wrong tools or worst case damaging the diaphragm(incorrect bleeding) makes them fubar on shimano and is not serviceable. I wouldnt suggest someone do this if they don't have the confidence or right tooling as well as materials + bleeding kit. Its not a rocket science job I agree, but I think its bad advice to say "just try"
  2. PS slickjay007 You will also need a shimano bleeding kit / mineral oil and a good quality cable cutting tool(sidecutters is not ideal) if you want to do the DIY thing...there should be extra two olives and inserts for this job in the package...make sure they are there if you buy online
  3. I was in that camp before...its a pretty costly mistake if he gets it wrong though If you not sure, take to a lbs and be prepared to pay
  4. sure sure there is a mark up but then they will probably thow in the fitting and cutting for free. which equates to the 30% if you go and buy from online vendor. Again its a simple job if you know what you doing...but you have the potential to stuff up the brakeset if you dont.. Your call
  5. great point lerouc...the lbs would be in the right to charge you for labour and then some if you pitch with a crc package. Rather buy at lbs.
  6. if you buy out of the box the brakes should come pre-bled, but you will probably have to cut the hoses to fit your bike and might need a bleed. I would defnitely leave this to a shop if you unsure what you must do.
  7. true true....but the bigones have already bought in. Epic, Sani, J2c, B&B, lesotho sky....pga round of applause to those guys...No ex doper can ever stand on their podiums. This must burn the ex dopers knowing it, afterall that is where it matters(ex-dopers need sponsors and sponser want their names in lights at those big events)...no use if you being sponsored helmets and two tubes of chamois butter a year.
  8. which is ironic since its the same riders that made their race's results cheap...
  9. no no the black edition....translates to KakEnBetaal...team is below that....and then there is another one with a slightly different black paint scheme but its a totally different bike than the black edition.
  10. The black edition has, the team edition doesnt...well thats how i see it
  11. mmmm you need deep pockets for a very light build...mine is a mix of XT / XTR / Hope / Spank and I can honestly say it doesnt feel like an anchor.
  12. where is the dice....daddy needs a new pair of skoens
  13. Nee wat oom....haka / VG is where its at. Still love my sunday spruit @ 8 ride with the manne....
  14. agree on the dawgs...they are an awesome bunch...however the juma(I havent participated in one yet) adds some nice features / bridges / crossings when they prepare for their event. Everyone benefits from it all year round. Try not to see the bad in everything my goodness
  15. same here....that being said I have a set of hope's on route to me. I am just going to say it....the whole avid range was a cluster f**k...they gave endless problems(first hand experience), hard to bleed properly and then you have to frequently nurse them to ensure performance. Shimano's simplicity was its beauty...but the on-off feel they give isn't for everyone Apparently the guides were designed and built from the ground up...good move by sram imo and they are being specced on top end enduro bikes so that in itself says something. There is a video on pinkbike somewhere going into depth from R&D point of view of the guides. They are getting great real world reviews so hopefully sram has turned their braking woes around.
  16. rouxtjie mistake dum dum dishhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
  17. stop it now....we dont want this to be too easy... That sneaky col got his mix in the compound....finger lek goed
  18. Its a trick question....its actually crocs, see above
  19. demmit....you saw right through my plan Now everyone knows crocs own 5.10. PS they started developing mtb shoes in the early eighties. Some say axel rose was wearing a pair when recording appetite for destruction.
  20. PS I hope you answered the questions right.... Tip of the day...new balance owns 5.10 now
