  1. That's a cool bike.
  2. The KLR is flippen tough, but the quality of todays nails not so much. After the nuclear apocalypse only 3 things will survive, twinkies, cockroaches and KLRs.
  3. Tough as nails? I dunno so much, todays nails are ***.
  4. Not pretty, but I can't spot anything that can break if it's dropped in a stream,
  5. I believe the KLR650 carb motor indeed all carb motors are going to be phased out. Something to do with emissions etc.
  6. Yup the 990 demands a skilled rider. Looked at the F800GS, stunning bike, but I don't know if I could bring myself to buy one and hurt it while I'm getting my riding skills up again.
  7. No one really wants to chuck cash away, but the cost of binning a KTM 990 adventure will cost a hell of a lot more than binning a KLR, even with insurance. and starting out I'm pretty damn sure I drop it quite a few times.
  8. I want to get back into motorcycling via the adventure route, but I'm in abit of a quandary. Do I go balls to the walls and buy a BMW or KTM adventure bike or do I start with something like a KLR 650 just to get my skill levels up again.
  9. Just wondering, what happened to the old Codger Big H?
  10. The Aventador!
  11. I was looking at a momsen, after reading this. No thanks.
  12. Gummi, I have to ask being rather new to MTB. Why does everyone hate avid so much. I have elixer 3s and can't fault them.
  13. Garmin Garmin Garmin.
  14. And here I thought this thread was going to be about our awesome tans and our uncanny resemblance to polony.
  15. Take the Axis. 26er would suit your needs best I reckon.
  16. I use my Z10, no need for tapatalk. Can upload photos, start new topics etc. Only limitations so far, can't use emoticons, and if I reply on a specific post it doesn't attach that persons post.
  17. Hi , bike was bought at my LBS , crank spindle was bent after about 3 months . Had to pay courier costs. LBS told me that's how the agent operates. to make it worse the warranty set cracked where the pedals screw in. Was sent another set, left crank was a 172.5mm and right crank 175mm. I only picked it up 3 months after the fact as I was using my mtb far more. Agent said sorry I should've picked it up right away and wont help me. So I've bought a 175mm left crank at my own cost. Not a happy bunny.
  18. I had a warranty claim on a crankset. Had to pay the courier costs which annoys the crap out of me. When I have a warranty claim on my BMW, they don't charge me to courier the parts to the dealership. Daylight robbery if you ask me.
  19. Hi 115kg odd. Bought a Axis A10 29er XO X9 mix. Ride it like a complete idiot (due to zero skills) nothing broken yet. I paid R11500.
  20. It's a rebranded Factor 001 made by Beru F1 systems in 2010. Cheapshot by Aston.
  21. I've had nothing but faultless service from Alexander Forbes. I'd rather pay abit more and not stress should I need to claim.
  22. Tromp I hope you get sorted out.
  23. Isn't trying to hang onto your no claim bonus and pinning your hopes on another insurance company to repair your car cutting your nose off to spite your face?
  24. With a girlfriend in the truck does it become a camel tow truck?
