improved my swim radically, from being a swim back-marker to a mid-field swimmer...
What a lekker ride, a few pools of water here and there, ground a bit wet but not saturated...
Loved that technical single track at the end...
Good job by the organizers to split the routes at the end - 50km guys got to do nice single track, while I believe the 25km guys finished on jeep track.
I'm heading out there with about 8 kids from my school wanting to do the 25km... their enthusiasm is killing me, not really keen for the mud and cold...

they did a presentation at the school I work at, never mentioned price. Many kids were keen to do a team tri, until we looked at the prices...
Even as an individual, no ways am I doing it a that price...
There's an off road tri a few weeks later - LandRover N1 City tri, would rather do that...

What an awesome ride, fell my gat off on one of those wooden bridges on the single track towards the end... The photographers seemed pretty keen, some laying in the bush to get that perfect shot...
Will definitely do this ride again in future...

My first PPA event since the Argus last year... started in F&G, lead the bunch over Helz (that hasn't happened in ages), four of us got away after guttering it a bit on the R304, TankMan and me dropped to guys and caught a few bunches ahead of us... Ran out of water and had to stop for a top up...
Kind of enjoyed the tough conditions... Finishing by catching the shorter and medium routes did cause a fe nervous moments thou. 
I use "Deuter". You can get them at Cape Union Mart. I have the 15/350 model, which is a nice size - not to big not to small.
There are two clips (belts, whatever you call it) one ties across your chest (stops the straps from falling off your shoulders) and another around your waist (stops the pack from bouncing on your back).
It also has a velcro hole thing (if you carry a camel back, or other hydration device) where the mouth piece comes through.
A really cool design - I've had mine for close to 5 years, and it's still perfect...
I have had my EA70's for about 3 years now - use them for training, so I've gotten a lot of good miles out of them. Recently started popping spokes - and every time they have to go to the agent for new spokes (never taken them more than a day or two to sort out).
I would like to join this ride. What time will you be back? How far is the ride?
I stay in the Northern Suburbs and I'm usually home at 9... we finish in town at before 8 if you need to head off early... Join us!

I've heard of a group of folks that swim at the Hillcrest quarry early mornings... obviously wetsuits required thou.
I miss the days when they were a small family store and you got real service... sadly I dislike going into their stores, and online is usually out of stock and / or only small / large sizes of the things I need :/
This is the hub, I know what'll happen. Fortunately over the years I've made some really good friends on here and have, I think, a pretty good reputation. So the people that do know me, will realize I'm not just barking up a tree for no apparent reason.
I'll vouch for DizzlLizzy's character... not a trouble maker in any way, just wants info to which she is surely entitled to as a paying member... and isn't here to troll!
Also only ever had good service from them 
Fulcrum is technically Campy... so you loose style points for using it with Shimano or Sram groupos 
Makes intersections interesting... 
Some scary stories of Bridge on here... I'm staying far far far very far away from them...
