I saw that, Merc also struggling. I don't wish ill on any team but a tough year for Merc will really perk up my F1 excitement.......

They were touting a darker shade of red leading up to their unveiling but I must agree, it looks like a sun faded red now.

They using a matte paint this year, as apparently it is slightly lighter than gloss. But still looks like a different shade of red

Although early days, good start for Ferrari. Most laps completed so far, and nearly 2 sec faster than Merc. Ham will continue the testing for Merc this afternoon, so will see if that makes a difference.

 

And Williams look to miss tomorrow's testing as well.

Ja, they still need time to copy the front wing...   

 

Pretty darn sure that a) that was not Vettel's only lap and b) you can't read much into these times.

Ferrari, Torro Rosso and Alfa running similar wing designs. It won't be very easy for Haas to copy the wing design, as it will have a knock on affect to the rest of the aero down the body. 

 

Yes, early days in testing, and one shouldn't read to much into it (especially seeing Merc running down the bottom half of the times). But you also can't ignore how dominant Ferrari have been with the lap times, and the lap counts.

And it looks like Wiliams might be joining the party today. Nothing like missing 2 and half days of testing, when all you have is 8 before the first race. Also saw reports that in simulations, it looks like the Williams is already 2 secs a lap slower than the rest of the field. Going to be a long year for them.

I think those two ears on the wing of the Ferrari make it look like a haas

Is that based on last years times or the other teams times from this year because the cars are already slower. So good chance the Williams is closer to 4secs off the pace, if that is the case they may as well stay at home........

Lewis is being very vague in his interviews and the footage I have seen they have been legitimately struggling, lock-ups, no rear grip, etc......

I really hope Williams do a "Brawn" and have an incredibly fast car from day one, but somehow Mr Lowe appears to have screwed up again.

Yeah there is not much to gain from not going fast, which could be strategised into only going fast for the first half of the track, or whatever if you really want to sandbag, but other teams will take the sector times into account. 

 

Kimi has just gone top as well. 

 

Testing is testing is testing. You don't know what the guys are really doing, but a fast time is still a fast time.
