5150 SOUTH AFRICA

I can't see it either but there is no way it will be the much as that is more than the subsidised entry to the ironman. It will be awesome to have a few more races to do.

I dont see the pricing either ? I did however put my name down for pre-registration. I'm kinda hoping its not going to be more than R500 per race.

That's probably why it's being held at Warmbaths...

I wonder what the course would be like? Would definitely like to try it out cause I haven't had any official races since August last year!

The R2 799 entry fee is for the Cape Town challenge which is a full Ironman distance.

Entry fees for this series will probably be more in line with with what we paid for 11Global.

Is 500 bucks also not a little steep for this race. Or am i bit to snoep?

I think that the entry fee is too much for an Olympic distance tri. <_<

It's going to be a top quality race to the same standards as Ironman. Also part of a Global series (like Ironman is).

The guys at Triangle always put on a fantastic event!!

I am sorry that is a bit much. I agree Triangle does put a good event together but at this price think i will be watching from the side.

And if thats an early entry price wonder how much a late entry is going to set you back?

You must be kidding! So if you want to do more that one, say JHB, bela bela and DBN, its going to cost you like 4-5k including travelling!

That is a tad steep.

Werner Smit has resigned from Troisport and is now the Race Director for 5150.

I agree that seems very expensive. The Future Life Olympic distance triathlon at the Vaal cost half of that and was supremely well organized.

The 5150 website remains useless and vague. But mind you, the Ironman SA website is not much better IMHO. Does anyone know when entries for 70.3 in Jan 2012 open? The triangle website says that they are open, but when I click on register, it tells me that entries for the 2011 event are closed <_<
