I find my old cheapie on my RC 3000 much more softer on the bum than my specilized toupe gel one. Dont know why suppose it is my dik gat ConfusedConfused

Saddles like most things (frames, pedals, handle-bars, bar-tape) are completely subjective.

I agree that the old Rolls saddles are comfy, but heavy. I also found the Regal to be on the comfier side of the scale, while the SLR and the Toupe on the opposite side, I never got on with either.

I do however concur that the Fizik saddles are top of my list. Having own(ed) the Arione, Aliante and Pave I found all of them to suit my posterior perfectly.

shortlegs, you're spot on.

The likes of Armstrong, Boonen, Bettini, MC Wen, Freire, Evans and many other ex and present pros prefer the heavier saddles like the Selle San Marco ROLLS, REGAL, REVER or CONDOR because they are more comfy than most others. What's not important to them is the weight of the saddle, but rather that its comfortable.

I don't plan on doing the Tour de France soon with a sponsored bike that needs extra weight to make it legal. Therefore a lighter saddle that is less comforable is ok for me since I don't think I'll do more than the DC on one day. Mind you, I've done the Trans Baviaans(225km) on a cheap R95 special. Your bum can addapt more than you think it can. My hands needed more padding thoughOuch

Thats like asking everyone what their favourite colour is! be prepared for a hundred different answers.

The best saddle is the one that fits you best. The one you can sit on for an entire day while out training' date=' and then get onto it a few days later and race hard.

I always rated the Arione, but this weekend I rode the 94.7 twice on a 100g piece of carbon, and im 100% today.  No worse off than when i did 230km on my Arione. So really it depends on you, how much you weigh, how hard you race, and how much you want to spend. There is no 'best' and 'most comfortable' saddle...
