Where can we find the FULL results?

I cant think that the event will only time and list the Pedal Power people.

I did buy a timing chip from them so I must be on some list!

It can not be...only ppa people?

So it means they make me pay for a timing chip and dont record my time?

And also they fool us (well actually the ppa people) to make them believe they got positions they actually didn't get (as there are many between them who is not with ppa)?

EISH!

they do record your time, they just dont publish it if you are not ppa :)

is what they said when i mailed them

So how will we get the full results?

I want to know where I was in ranking compaired to the whole bunch, not just the 85 PPA members.

That seems to me a bit foolish I think!

If this is how it will be I will actually not join PPA (as I was thinking about it) and also never do a PPA event again, because the results will never be actual...

Ummm...not cool.

So no one, except the people that came 1st actually, knows what their ranking was.

So for me, who is a new-bee to MTBing, but also pushing hard to get the right times to get into a team has no purpose in doing PPA events; I drove from PE for this one. If this is how they are I am sure they will not get to a 1000 cyclists next year at this event as it did not only have a few bottlenecks, but also the kiddies on the track did not pull-off (at all) to let the other people pass - we were a few stuck for the entire ride (about 2km) next to the last train tracks behind a family with a little boy.

Not good news for a 'properly organized event'.

I do not want to moan as I am enjoying the sport SO MUCH!

I am just disappointed in this ‘big’ event which was worse executed than a small charity event where there were only 59 cyclists and each age group winner got a price (R200) and where more than 5 in an age group the top 3 got prizes.

I don’t even want a prize; I just want my recorded time and overall ranking. Not estimated because I don’t know how many of me (people who took part but is not part of PPA) there were.

Anyhow...I will go do another race on Saturday (luckily not a PPA one!)

Well then you will never have any results....and also hardly do any events....join PPA, save on your entries aswell....don't spite yourself now..judging from starting in the beginning I am sure my position is correct as I took count...and knew who I overtook,etc....so what was your time then I can say more or less where u finished?

Driving from PE for a 35km race is crazy, and when you do the short distance you are supposed to be one of the more relaxed people and be glad that little kids are also enjoying their ride and not get all worked up as to whether you place 30th or 80th or lose 5 minutes due to congestion. just my 2cents.

Ok, after 12 months of doing regular racing please post again on the subject. In the meantime rather ask questions and learn something!

What kind of response is that?

Hayleyearth has some valid points.

The congestion and bottle neck on the railway track back home was an issue, even for the 55km riders getting behind 35km riders...

I also want my results measured against ALL participants, not only PPA members, even though I AM a PPA member. It is just plain stupid if you ask me. They don't have to state the times, but at least give an accurate position of your finishing time.
