just got my sms with my race number, seems ill be starting rite at the back, this being my first Burger mtb

 

 

Its the burger dude its a fun ride, no point in racing it unles your start in the A group. Just too much traffic, and too many slow riders everywhere.

 

This time im packing a picnic basket to sit and chow down while i wait for the singletrack to open up.

Really bad communications from the organizers considering all the entries have been closed ages ago. No mail informing of registration, I havent had any sms's, And no info about start groups.

 

Quite bad actaully.

Hi there,

 

 

 

Thank you for entering Die Burger MTB Challenge taking place on Saturday 30 July at Eikestad Primary School, Doornbosch Street, Stellenbosch.

 

 

 

Please see the start groups & start times at the bottom of this mail.

 

Late entries will be accepted at Registration for the 15km (R90) route ONLY!

Thursday, 28 July: 12 pm - 6 pm @ Sportsmans Warehouse, Canal Walk Shopping Centre (Entrance 5)

Friday, 29 July: 2 pm - 6 pm @ Eikestad Primary School, Stellenbosch

Saturday, 31 July: 7 am - 9h30 am @ Eikestad Primary School, Stellenbosch – NO late entries, substitution, timing chipsale or distance changes on race day.

 

Read the following:

 

 

Entries

 

· You need to be registered at least 30 minutes before your start!

 

· Late entries are accepted ONLY for the 15km route on Thursday & Friday registration.

 

· Your friend can collect your racenumber for you if you send a signed letter with.

 

· If you register on Thursday & Friday, you’ll receive some extra goody’s – not on raceday.

 

· For your own safety, do NOT ride with another rider’s number. Substitutions can be done on Thursday & Friday for R50 admin fee with a consent letter from the rider that can’t participate.

 

· 15km entries cannot move to the longer distances – they are full.

 

· Only a few extra items of merchandise for sale on Saturday. Collect your ordered hoody or Tshirt when collecting your number.

 

 

 

Routes

 

· There are refreshment stations on the routes – use them!

 

· If you’re not riding for glory, start slower to avoid cramping

 

· Control your bicycle, especially on the fast descents

 

· Don’t litter!

 

· This is private land – routes ONLY open on event day

 

· Be patient with other riders – this is mass participation event. Help your fellow rider.

 

 

 

Prizegiving is scheduled for 13h00. Stay for the luckydraw afterwards – there is a Giant Revel bike to be won and other fantastic prizes.

 

Prizes awarded to the first three male & female of each distance that crosses the finish line.

 

 

 

Directions

 

From the N1, take the R44 to Stellenbosch. Turn left in Van Reede street and you will be directed to the Rhenish High School parking area or Bloemhof High School parking. Registration at Eikestad Primary School in Doornbosch street.

 

Event finishers get 50% discount at the Stellenbosch Wine Festival.

Just got my race number or shall I say my pain number, its C1280. Going to be a beautiful but painful ride.blush.gif

 

How many start groups are there any way for the 60km?

Registration info is on their website.

 

BUT it has been a bit too quiet!

I`m starting in C for the 60km but I have no idea how many start groups there are?!

If you not sure if your entry went thru...go to the RaceTec website, put in your name....mines shows as ENTERED.

BTW...just received my SMS now.

I posted it all if you read a bit up regarding start groups :)

 

Got it now thanks I was skim reading as usual and missing the important parts

I am bedazzled, I got an invite to do the 75 (last years race was my best race ever) but I declined and entered the 60 and got a D seeding... Go figure
