I have been playing around with some of my images.

To me the idea of a photo is to also add some of the atmosphere one experiences at the time of taking the image.

 

I take a photo because at that moment in time I was in awe of what I saw.

Images even when boosted are often quite flat and often just another nice picture.

 

I took this image.

It was before the start of a Critical Mass, the atmosphere was energetic ,the air was energetic and that particular moment when the sun was going down and the people arrived was as I said simply awe inspiring.

 

This is my idea of trying to add some atmosphere to the moment.

 

 

 

Great shot. The Great Dane has the best gourmet hot dogs in Jozi. The Hunter (I think) has nachos in...

So does anyone know of a platform to sell photos?

 

Trying to generate some capital to start a business and I thought using my talents would be a good avenue to explore.

 

I'm not so keen on stock photography. More selling photos as artworks.

You will have to make sure that your work is damn good, make that exceptional, get them on canvas and in to art galleries.

I have a lot of township portraits as well as Hillbrow shots. Something that would appeal to Americans in search of pics with a dramatic story.

 

I agree that the work needs to be top class. But I have been looking in galleries and noticed some real terrible stuff going at high prices. Perhaps that's why it was still in the gallery and not sold.

You can try image brief they pay top $, you need a website and need to submit a portfolio.

wow, nice shot of the bee, I tried it once, 250 photos and a sore back and lots of frustration later, I had a semi okay shot, but nothing to write home about. I assume you used manual focus?
