Would've loved to take some more shots but time was a bit limited, Geece how does the hdr work, do you take the same shot at different exposures and then 'overlay' they? Does this then add more detail and depth to the pic? Anyone have an example?

yeah essentially thats how it works. u get all the detail combined. so those blown areas that at normal exposure are under or over exposed are now correctly exposed, or closer to that. check out a program called photomatix. I don't have any hdr I have done but Google has plenty.

as far as I know all of the latest cameras give an option to take multiple exposures.

problem is people tend to hdr it too much. so u get ridiculous highlights and it looks unrealistic. the trick is to make it subtle so it brings in all the detail at the different exposures without people instantly thinking its hdr.

I took this photo of Valentino Rossi on my trip to Italy last year, it was his first race at Mugello for Ducati and being a fan I had to be there. An Italian world champion, riding an Italian motorcycle in Italy for the first time, it was madness at the track

The track is surrounded by a high fence so I stood on a bank that gives you a an open view of the track and waited...
