I am still confused, could you please explain why 50g of 32Gi is so sweeeeeeeet in taste?

And perhaps a quick summary of instructions for usage. Not the nutritional GI eating plan instruction, that I read somewhere in one of the other threads, just a how much into a bottle instruction? There weren't any instructions on the 50g sample packs?

:awaits outbreak of Hub warfare over whether it should Zoos or Zoo's:

What do you drink durng the race?

I only drank water during the race. For a longer race(2:30 hours or longer) I would probably drink some coke towards the end just for that last bit of kick.

I should add that I hate using gels - they taste like puree'd dog poop and they generally make me feel worse than I did before using them.

My advice is use what works for you. But we are certainly gona do our utmost best to make sure it's us.

Off course there is a lot of marketing thought behind that line, but hopefully a lot of sincerity as well, because that is the greatest approach a company can have, well done!

Mark, firstly thank you for all the time you take to respond to the various questions. I have been using 32gi for training and a 80km race I did recently and am happy with the results. However this year I'm doing my first Double Century and was wondering if the 32gi is still suitable to use for an 8 hour race. Obviously I will eat 'proper' food along the way, bananas, wholewheat bread, etc. I understand completely that it's not a miracle drink and that hard training will do the trick, just your thoughts on a distance like 202km with this alone?

Abercrombie, I think its a perfect drink for a long event like that, its the kind of event where you are not going flat out from beginning to end, and you want to save yourself for the final kilometers. 32Gi will keep your energy levels stable and definitely assist in sparing your glycogen, until you need the kick to the finish. I have done many rides of that distance, without the need for major spikes at all, you should try combining the 32Gi chews in an event like that, it will also assist in providing you a little more peaking with a taper to give you some more energy supply. Its one of those distances you will want to pace yourself nicely and ensure you dont peak yourself early on, otherwise u could land up in some trouble later. You also want to think a little about carbo-loading for it about 2 days before just to ensure your glycogen stores are full.

all the best

Was joined by 2 pro riders on our weekend club ride , Jamie Ball and Travis , and gues what they had in their bottles.....32GI , both said they enjoyed it and that it worked well for them.

So if it works for the pro's it will work for us mortals :)

I swear by the stuff , use nothing else , the chews are superb to.

Gonna be doing Race for victory , lets see how i do :)

I've started using 32GI about 10 days ago. My routine includes a 50 minute surfski paddle followed by an hour of intense "boot camp" like cardio training. I know that 32GI is more for the endurance events, but I have found a substantial increase in sustained energy during the cardio workout. This allows me to push a bit harder - awesome stuff - I'm hooked.

I know it is fuel and not to be used for hydration purposes and all that. The one thing I have noticed is that I need to hydrate more - I think with everything else being equal. I do consider that it is a bit warmer now and that my intensity has gone up, but I'm still interested if anyone else had similar experiences?

So Mark - where does one get the 32GI chews from? Been using the drink since May, but I just went to Dischem and no chews yet.

I need to try some this weekend. :)
