Hi there, our carb is a bee hive extract which is very slow releasing sugar molecule, combined with some propriety ingredients it works very very well. It is FDA, CE and SA Health approved, for adults, children and diabetics. I hope this helps with the information I am permitted to divulge.

@faceplant' date=' 1000%, no protein additive would impact the drink effects, even low GI powerbars. The only thing that impacts a slow glucose release is taking in a high glucose release such as a maltodextrin based carb. I have some athletes that add carnatine as an additional fat transporter.

So eating a pre race meal that contains simple carbs will screw up the use of 32gi in a race/ride?

Hi Jaco

If you ask any elite sports nutritionist or coach out there, whether you take an energy drink or not, its never a good idea to have a high GI pre-race meal. It is counter performing.

What pre race meal does the elite athletes that use your product have?

Hi Jaco

It differs, we have 17 pro-athletes using our product, some have raw oats, with sugar free peanut butter and a drop of honey, some have low GI linseed loaf with sugar free low GI fruit jam, it differs from one to the other. General rule of thumb for them all is:

- No Dairy - bowel irritant

- No Fibre - bowel irritant

- No Sugar - want sustainability and don't want to spike going into the race.

Congratulations your product seems to be doing very well in a market where one often has to rely on "less than scientific" claims! Any plans of bringing it out in gel form as it works well to carry on a bike but less practical for long-distance running events?

Somewhat late response to your question, but if you haven't found a stockist as yet, The Sweat Shop at Dunkeld West do keep it. It does sell like hotcakes though the salesperson told me.

Jaco, nothing wrong with that meal, make sure u use a very good whey isolate, as its known that the cheaper brands create flatulence otherwise a soya isolate is much slower digesting and might be a better option, but i think the pre-race u have is great ;-)

@cycle101, to be honest we have already developed what we call a soft gel version, its not a gel as u know it, its more like a soft jelly which can be carried in your pockets and eaten. It has protein in it as well, and tastes great, our athletes have been testing it for quite a while now and are loving it. We had some pro athletes taking it at IM on Sunday. Stay tuned for this its coming out soon.

and bars? I currently use USN High Energy. Never seen it in the shops but I get it from Super Bru. I sometimes eat it for breakfast or lunch and it keeps me going.

I have done two stage races recently on water with great success.

I cannot speak for 32GI but most sport drinks are packed with dangerous colourants, flavourants and other undocumented chemicals that are neurotoxic to your brain.

A great athlete taught me to drink water, take electrolyte tablets and chow organic bars containing complex carbs and some protein which has become my preference. If I dont have any bars Ill chow a gel but prefer an organic bar. Your body becomes incredibly efficient training and racing this way.

Sounds Gr8... Will try and source from Dischem' date=' any other stockists in Cape Town?[/quote']

No use going to Dischem. They do not stock it at present. Most do not know of the product and some only heard about it and do not know when they will stock it. Believe me, I've tried most Dischem's in Cape Town/Bellville/Brackenfell/Durbanville area.

Would also like who besides Dischem stock it.

wolffm, not slating your distribution network, just frustrated as I'd like to get hold of the product to use it myself.
