I need convincing. Are they practical for our roads considering the condition and debri. Great in a race yes but what if you dont have a backup car to swop wheels for you.

Carry a backup tire (it's lighter than a backup car) and a cell phone, know how to change one. or also carry a repair kit. I pump some stans into mine for small holes.

If race tubbies can survive Roubaix, then they'll do just fine on our roads. Does help to go 24 or 25 mm. The wider the better.

What glue does one use to stick them to the rim with and what do you use to clean the glue off the rim with?

Tubby glue  you dont really need to clean the old glue off ... add some more glue and stick the new tubby on. Gives it lekka place to grip.

Take you pick:

I love my racing tubbies. I use Vittoria tubbies. Remember that the tyre pressure on a tubby is higher than a clincher tyre. That means that the tubbies are harder to puncture, but they do puncture.

I am thinking about changing my training wheels to tubbies.
