Just looking on the Cape Pioneer site, there is a photo of Sauser and Knox do my eyes deceive me or is Knox on a 26 er? (I could be wrong)

After they won stage 6, I thought 26 ers dont win races.

This is the same guy who said a couple of months ago after winning a race on a 29 er that the 29 er is the best thing ever. (or did his sponsor tell him to say that)

something about horses for courses ? sponsored or rich riders should always be using the best bike for the course, just like guys in the TdF who change their gear ratios depending on the days riding. it's us poorer folk who can't afford two bikes that have to bite the bullet and buy a bike based on the type of riding you do most often. :D

Max rides for Ghost Bikes - they haven't had a 29er in their line up so far (the 2012 range does though) so he races a 26er - doesn't seem to matter to him though...

The race I saw him win I am sure he was on a ghost 29 er. He was still saying how great it was.

What I heard was that Max and Jock have been riding "no-name" 29ers because Ghost doesn't (yet) sell big-wheel bikes. It's difficult to imagine the sponsor condoning that sort of thing.

Reminds me of DH in the late 90s, where everyone was riding Intense M-series bikes repainted and badged in their sponsors' livery. The bike was just *that* good.

Yeah its some bike that Ballistic also imports, can't remember the brand. Knox had Do it Now Magazine stickers on the bike in the pics/tv coverage I saw

+1

Sticking a 'DO IT NOW' sticker over the(we think a Momsen)brand=poor style.

You are allowed to change everything between stages except the frame, so you can't ride one day on a 29er and the next on 26

HI, the frame is not a Momsen Frame and if it is I would be concerned as I know where it comes from. We do not distribute any other brand as far as bikes go but it was merely Marketing Exercise for our Sponsor DOITNOW and we did not want to deface the Ghost Bikes, we now know that 26" is the Bike for Max.
