It would be good if the Aussies can put together a big total and put the Brits under some pressure. Wouldn't mind Oz winning this test and add some fire to the competition.

What's the pitch like?

Should be almost dry and abrasive. There was a bit of green grass on it before the test. But I think the poms mowed it clean to improve the chance of reverse swing.

Eish, them Aussies. They have fired the Saffa coach, but it looks like he was not the problem.

 

Imo their combo of world beaters - Langer, Hayden, Ponting, Waughs, Hussey, Gilchrist, Warne, McGrath wont be matched for a long time, perhaps not ever. Current squad cant hope to match that.

Got to be concerning that there's no bowlers in the line-up that would particularly bother a decent batsman.

 

Some of that Sri Lankan spin tonight was audacious.
