Blommetjies were a green machine today, and I would never have tipped JP for a hattrick!

I hope they can maintain this intensity for the next two games, and that the knock-outs demon has been banished forever.

I wonder if they will continue with this team, Abbott has been awesome whenever he played, but we still look short on the fast bowling front, for fast bowling conditions.

looks like india took bangladesh apart at the closing end of that innings. the surge started from the last 15 once the power play was taken.

the old theory was double the score from the 30th over if enough wickets are in hand.

India were 126/2 after 30, so would double to 252

at

35 155/3

40 205/3 (50/0 in the powerplay)

50 302/6 (97 in last 10).

interesting to see the ground is moderately full, top tier looks pretty empty (just as in sydney yesterday). - way more people at the G for the proteas round robin game

Apparently the SA Ind game was sold out months ago. Only finding out where you play your QF relatively late in the tournament makes it difficult for traveling fans.

I heard one of the commentators say that now-a-days you should rather double at 35.

ok that does make sense, but flies in the face of their rather complicated 1/4 scheduling plan. india were basically assured of finishing top after beating SA, and almost guaranteed it once we lost to pakistan. they knew it would be either bang or eng and at mcg at this time.

I suppose most fans will come over for semis and the final. Why pay for an extra week if you only play Ban in the QF?

Pakistan not very clever it seems.  They are trying their best not to bat out 50 overs.

Ya - i dont get afridi - he's done that all his career...but still he needs to take some chances sure...but also stabilise

caught on the fence in the 34th over...not very bright, just wait an over and there's only two men out.

Pakistan showed really bad shot selection today.

Smith out - Wonder if they can force an aussie collapse. 65 to go in 23 overs with 6 wickets in hand...

Ja, Afridi does not seem to be the sharpest tool in the bag.  I was thinking the same thing. Just one over later and that would have been a boundary.  He could easily have added up to 40 runs by himself in the powerplay if he applied his mind.

PS:  That is probably why they call him Boom Boom.  He sometimes seem to blow up spectacularly.

he's played 397 more ODIs than us but still couldn't work that one out. They got 21/0 from the powerplay(including 11 off the 40th/last over)

moving along..at least pakis can't surprise us twice now.

we got mike horn on our side too
