MrJacques Posted November 23, 2011 Posted November 23, 2011 Maybe I'm just too up to date by browsing cycling websites, but the last few issues of the cycling magazines I subscribe to have been uninteresting for me. And if I have to name names, Bicycling SA and Tread Mag (less uninteresting than Bicycling). There were one or two useful things in there, but overall a bit disappointing. My curiosity will probably get the better of me and I'll end up buying the magazines anyway. Do you still buy cycling related magazines? Is there a magazine you would recommend?
thumbpa Posted November 23, 2011 Posted November 23, 2011 yes, i can strongly recommend cycling plus mag from the uk, can buy it at CNA, not cheap, but well worth it.alot cheaper if you buy from them in the uk.cycling plus is bike radar magazine.
banna Posted November 23, 2011 Posted November 23, 2011 Try Mountain bike UK or What Mountain bike to see what a decent mag should look like.
Eldron Posted November 23, 2011 Posted November 23, 2011 Try Mountain bike UK or What Mountain bike to see what a decent mag should look like. +1,000,000 for MBUK - great mag!
rouxtjie Posted November 23, 2011 Posted November 23, 2011 (edited) Try Mountain bike UK.....oops dup post Edited November 23, 2011 by rouxtjie
rouxtjie Posted November 23, 2011 Posted November 23, 2011 (edited) Try Mountain bike UK....Yebo...besides the toy(think it is a waterproof pouch this month) you get they really have awesome review and "how-to" sections in the mag. Also like tread, nice local flavour that isn't "copy and pasted" from big brother mags Edited November 23, 2011 by rouxtjie
Active Monkey Posted November 23, 2011 Posted November 23, 2011 I find the same... I am subscribed to cycling and bike via zinio and read in my ipad. Much cheaper that way. Reality is that most info and articles and pics are on the web long before the mag comes out...
ShaughnK Posted November 23, 2011 Posted November 23, 2011 Buy Tread Mag. Havent missed an issue. Ride Mag, the odd edition.
ADe Posted November 23, 2011 Posted November 23, 2011 I have a digital subscription to Bicycling, but it is not a great mag. Luckily relatively cheap in digital format. Two mags I do buy is Triathlon SA and Triathlon Plus. Much better value for money.
Danger Dassie Posted November 23, 2011 Posted November 23, 2011 Bike ... Been doing so since the early 90s and on the odd occasion MBUKObviously Tread as well Digital will be the way to go eventually, but still a ways off.Besides, for me personally I like paging through actual print. Especially if it's by a fireplace.

Oltremo Posted November 23, 2011 Posted November 23, 2011 For me SA's Ride and Bicylce has lost its appeal, it has become boring, same old adds / products, same old articles. I now buy Road Bike Action (American) Cycling Plus (UK) and ProCycling (occassionally if other 2 not available, these are available from some CNA's.

Tumbleweed Posted November 23, 2011 Posted November 23, 2011 Read three local mags - Tread, Ride, and Bicycling - and subscribe to Bike, and pick up MBUK when I see it, and sometimes MTBR. Must still get around to subscribing to Privateer… http://www.privateer.cc/ Steal old copies of Procycling from my boet.
