Please enlighten me, who in this thread is an engineer, and bulshitters don't count.

Is that Bullshitters or bulshitters?

I'm a licensed aircraft maintennace engineer, thats what it says on my trade papers and license book.

I elected to refrain from commenting on the obvious (water damage)

Now youv'e done it!!!

Imagaine an aircraft travelling at around 900km/h grounspeed...and going through a cloud full of water...heaven forbid the amount of damage that must occur...

C'mon SwissVan - add your 5.5c worth!!

Speed kills, water corrodes metal and carports can damage your saddle.

I will be transporting a dual suspension bike on the roof of my car for approx 9hrs. The forecast is for rain all the way.

Am I crazy to do this? Will my bike suffer any damage when travelling at 100 km/hr in a downpour?

Your thoughts and ideas will be appreciated?

Thanks guys.

Chap. Just wrap everything in clingwrap, and use electrical insulation tape to seal.

Do your headset area and BB area as well. Don't worry about hubs.

Most of the rain (where the hell is it raining for 9hours?) will pass by the bike. It has a shape, so does your car.

If you are coming to Durbs, bring wet lube. It hasn't stopped pissing here.

AND DRIVE CAREFULLY, DAMMIT! Don't do the usual Lemming Thing.

Good ***.

I am absent for a day and you buggers are at it, again!

I ain't even going to start reading this lot. For Pete's sake. You are going to do more damage to ALL the components put together doing a 45k ride in the rain than you are it 12hours of driving with the bloody thing on the roof.

Just use your noggin, apply some plastic, and enjoy the drive.

Bloody Hell! This is exactly why air-o-planes end up 2k's UNDER WATER. <_<

Using a drongo's estimation, how many meters of cling wrap would this take? Should he go past the airport and get the baggage cling wrap okes to do his bike quick? Oh, and the glue on insulting tape is not so good when wet. He's gonna end up with a flapper about two hours in. Any alternatives?

Yeah, but his dual susser probably doesn't have a black box. And I doubt his rainy drive will have that much rain to make 2kms
