what happened to our group at the end?

pace dropped alot...

My theory is that for 75 kms or so, the supersonic pace burnt too many matches within collective bunch and only a few riders could pace into the wind.

Then again, I did not have the strength to pace at a good rate into the south Easter.

Could of been that, but then everybody was full of enegry for the sprintph34r.png

It's like saving room for pudding... There's always a lil' woema for a sprint!

I backed off over the last 100 metres and cruised in having reached my race objective.

We had a nice ride in G. The Outriders did a great job to keep the pace high. We caught a lot of other groups. The last 15km our pace also dropped and the workers got very few, but there was a few tough guys in our group. Always strange how well those tired guys sprint.wink.png

Agree with 'Dale, We pulled one guy for the last 30km and another for the last 35km, their turns were short and not too mahy either.

But me and my clubmate knuckled down and we got to the line, with 5 in our group, another sitter, 2 outsprinted us and the other was well and truly dead.

Must give credit to the ppa event was well organized

Only one criticism. They should have had another / last Watertable on the last 10km stretch from the "Fruitsellers 4 way". I ran out of water (used my last mix at Silo's), and had to endure it to the end. Coming back home saw a lot of the backmarkers / shorter route guys walking over those last few rollers. Even saw some guys lying on the verge of the road, trying to find shade under the scrubbery. Pitied those guys still out there in the heat. This was at about 11h30.

I have my doubts about the top 3 positions...

Humph!

According to the results, a Stars rider beat the high-powered Elite bunch by almost 8 minutes.

And positions 2 & 3, hmmm...

they started behind our group and the winners finished with us, so it should be 3 minutes off our times...

also they were marshalled so we find out soon what happened

Think it may be a similar situation to what I did last weekend.

Anyway, happy with my result thumbup1.gif
