Thanks, we were actually discussing this last night, and how we were going to approach the river crossings. Are any of the crossings high enough to get our chamois's wet?

hmmm dunno but i'm not taking them off.

Guys....the vid on Trans Baviaans route taken on 4 Aug by the organisers..... if you have a support vehicle and they are meeting you at checkpoint 5, surely that means one would have to have a 4x4 with good ground clearance as one would have to cross the Gamtoos river from Jeffrey B side which evidently is also "the deepest one" (depicted on the video) when it comes to river crossing....?? am I correct or am I disorientated?? :w00t:

The support vehicles drives around the Baviaans and come trough from Jeffreys side. Most of the road is tar and the last bit is gravel. You can drive it with a car with low profiles if you wish :w00t:

Don't worry.Checkpoints will be accessible by car.You do not need a 4 by 4.

The vehicles follow a different route to us suckers!

Hope the rain predicted for Cape Town and surroundings for the next couple of days don't reach the route!! Otherwise a wetsuit and tube might be needed, whichever route we ride!

Allot more than 24H to go to the start. The rain still has time to screw us.
