Nope, Sram also makes a crank power meter, known as the Quarq.

I thought sram just owned them, didn't know that sram actually made the pm's.

SRAM makes the S900 crank which is used with the SRM, the Quarq Cinqo and the Power2Max. From about 2009-2010, SRAM sold the S900 connected to a SRM or Cinqo power meter through their distribution channels and under their brand as the S975.

Last year, SRAM bought Quarq, though it still sell the S975 SRMs. Over the next two years, Quarq will phase out production of Cinqos for other brand cranks (e.g. FSA, Lightning, Specialized) and will only produce the SRAM-compatible version. I'm not sure what will happen with SRM.

Minor trivia: name another high-end bike brand that SRAM owns.

But what I was trying to say is that it isn't a Sram powermeter, it's either a SRM or Cinqo.

Can't you afford Campagnolo :)

Just prefer sram.

But to the OP, just fiddle with the derailleur settings until you can get something to work.

As mentioned, the Rupert family own a large chunk of SRAM.It is a well known fact that they will launch SRAM green and then SRAM blue to complete the South African flag. It is their strategy to dominate as with some of their other well known brands...

I guess. I can't comment as I changed from Ultegra...

I knew it! You undercover agent!

What do you mean, will launch? Sram Green has been sitting on this Evo for quite some time.

Those were my dark days of riding Shimano.... Could not face paying close to 20k for 7900 when it came out so I went Chorus 11 and have never looked back. Sram Red was still in nappies then. I quite like the look and price of 6700 now, but would not necessarily go back. None of my 3 bikes run Shimano any more.

At least I never used Shimano on an Italian frame and never will!!

Nice. Roll on SRAM blue so we can start singing Nkosi Sikelele in Paris...

Thanks Bud!

Ja ja, we both know you wont "necessary" go back because upgrading 3 bikes would be a mission.

I will stick Shimano on my next 50 Italian frames! :P

No, no, you got it wrong. I am happy with my three bikes being reliable and shifting smoothly...

To the OP. If you ride Super Record you obviously appreciate the finer things in life, but can also afford for someone to come and collect your baby, take it to their air conditioned workshop and tjoon it up perfectly while listening to the latest release by Eros Ramazotti and sipping on a Lavazza espresso.

Good luck and persevere. You made the right choice Senor!

AFAIK the investment is held in Reinet Investments, therefore any shareholder in Reinet effectively owns a share in SRAM.

Wow, have we derailed. Has the OP sorted out his issue yet? If not, just get in touch with JB or Hannes.

Konjar, Im also in the Fourways area. I run Super Record with a SRAM power meter (and therefore SRAM crankarms and chainrings), all BB30. Mine runs very smoothly almost 7,000 kms later. If you're struggling I suggest you contact either Johan Bornman (yellowsaddle) or Hannes Botha (cycle boutique). Because this is top level equipment, only these okes touch my bikes and I can highly recommend both of them.

Cheers

Thanks for the info. Will give these guys a shout and see if we can sort this out.
