I am in the market for a new pair of sunnies.

Is the photochromic glasses worth the money?

What photohromic glasses would you recommend and why?

What shop/shops stock them?

Thanks!

+1 on Rudi Projects - got mine on a hub auction for just over the R800.. The photochromic lenses are just the ticket for those cloudy days - or (very) early rides....

Suck on mtb rides when you move in and out of shadows often.

Are the Rudy Photochromatics sucky for this? I battled with normal sunglasses so got a pair of Rydons recently with just clear lenses. Been contemplating whether to buy photochromatics lenses....

To be honest I'm not sure which model I tried, I dont see how any lense could change fast enough ? my 2 c

Ok, they're fast enough when you go from bright sun to a dark area, like when I ride into the underground parking lot to visit Virgin Active. Previously I nearly crashed into all the BMWs with my normal Oakleys on.

But they're too slow to respond when riding in and out of dappled shade, so that's why you don't have any hassles.

Can't really say I am blown away with my Photochromic Hub Special Ruby's, but they are okay .... maybe I was expecting too much. I also find the bridge slipping down my nose a bit more than was I was used with my previous Oakleys

Hi Kosmonooit,

Just check if you set them up ok - the nose pieces and temples are completely adjustable. When fitted correctly they should go nowhere :). One of the outstanding features of that model is its fit so strange that you should have that experience. Call us should you need more info.
