I think the venue has changed to Base 3 if I am not mistaken.

 

yip thats right, received the e-mail a few days ago, apparently the track on the opposite side is on dolomite or something like that, which is prone to sink holes and has been deemed unsafe by the municipality.

 

pretty scary for the rest of us who rode the last one, could have been our last had one of those holes decided to open up while riding over it

i didi the 50 aswell, thoroughly enjoyed my first MTB race ever i was filthy hahahaha

how did you do time wise? i did a 3:11, i am still slow on the single track

 

alot different to the road races i have done, i was not used to stopping for the bottle necks, nice way of catching your breathe

2:29. The trick with a race with a lot of single track in the beginning is to go pretty much flatbox at the beginning to try get a far up as you can. You'll pay for it at the end, but overall it's faster.

 

BTW, do you actually own an RS4 - if so was it the blue one with the Santa Cruz on the back?

thanks G-Unit, i will remember the flatbox trick for next time, i did sit an camp for some time at the beginning when you turn into the "forest"

yes i do own one, i have a black one, i was parked on the left hand side of the sand road before you entered the main parking
