First timer - 9:20 start. And the only reason it isn't a 10am start is that i'm a PPA member.

(on that note I heard that PPA members were seeded more towards the middle of the pack in previous years? Not sure how true that is, but given PPA use 'a better Argus seeding' as one of their main selling points I think more than a few might be a bit upset with only 20 minutes between PPA and Open entries)

Me - I'm not bothered - just looking forward to the ride :)

Same here. Will be plenty of fast ones coming past if you want to catch a train. Especially on the Blue Route.

Enjoy - there's nothing like finishing the first (well, nothing much...??)

See you in PB!

Did C bunch split up much? On Edinburgh? You must have been hammering it to catch B leaders by Glencairn?!

I dont remember it being that hard to the base of Boyes drive. B seemed to have split into two large groups. We caught the second group at the start of the start of Boyes drive. Having done the Cobra etc, knew what was coming, so made sure I was at the front of the bunch and was able to hold onto the sprint up the climb.

About 50 of us broke clear, being a mix of B/C riders. The lead B group were slacking, but once we caught them, they latched on and started to work again.

The group had shattered by Chappies though, with only about 50 riders from B/C (20 from C) left. Still a large group 100+ as many of the VA/VB riders had been swept up.

I totally got jooked. I did my first Argus last year and finished around 4:25 because I got both a rear wheel and front wheel puncture (Training partner that was weaker than me got 3:50). All my regular training partners got Q's and X's and I got YY. I get that my finishing time wasnt that great but someone else that was 15 minutes faster than me got a single digit number and hasnt ridden any seeded events since the last Argus. Does this sound right as Im not too amped to start at 9:05 with all the MTbs.

I have emailed them and am hoping for a reply.

If they do drop your seedding please PM me, my buddy has the same issue so he can do the same and use your situation as "case law"

Are you serious? Is she really? I hope she finishes.....

you can join her for a ride on Sat from Cycle Lab CT. Maybe chirp her a bit to get her fired up!

Next wave forecasted:

Cycle Tour Trust responds to various queries in seeding process and how riders feel about 'dat.

Sounds spot on to me.

I'm already winding myself for disappointment and an angry outburst .... maybe I'll be pleasantly surprised and have to find something else to rant about

The weather forecast for the Argus weekend is looking rather hectic.

Up to what windspeeds would you use deep section wheels?

I also thought about wearing no socks to reduce the drag and put baby oil all over (all over) me to reduce the drag. Anyone tried that before?
