The organisers really should use all local music.

Yes local music would be cool. Something like "Liefling"...... the Ge Korsten version not Steve and Boeremusiek like "Kliprivierpolka", "Die Namakwalanders Settees", "Jampotpolka" and my favourite "Liefling van My"

Maybe we can have a "vinnige binneboud wals" before the start to warm up!!!!!!!

"Chariots of Fire" ?

You mean the RUNNING movie?

What the hell does RUNNING have to do with the Argust?

Isn't that what they used to play? Or was it the Eye of the Tiger.....

2009 there was a bit of a breeze.

Yup, and that little breeze cost me my only real chance I had for a sub 3. Did 3:32 in it, and according to the clever guys, on a "normal" day it would have been around 2:50. Ah well, whats not meant to be.....

2009 there was a bit of a breeze.

The teeth gnashing sound of many Social Tandems falling over when they hit the wind gusting at 160km/h coming out under the "tunnel" at the start still haunts me at times!!!!!!!!

As an experienced Tandem pair we dismounted and pushed our steed through the battlefield of tangled Tandems and teams, bearing against the screeching wailing demon of a wind.

Same here, robbed us of our chance of breaking the sub four. We were very fit for our own standards. We did a flat 120km training run before the Argus in extremely hot Angolan conditions in a sub three time. We then just relaxed and did the right thing, a social ARGUS and stopped at waterpoints and enjoyed the ride.
