Rather let the two people directly involved in this matter speak out themselves. All I can say it is not exactly like OP posted (he's not far off, but there is info he did not divulge, that changes the matter substantially).

Hmm, I hear you, but I dont think that's possible, its gone way beyond that in my mind, its in the public domain,...... its far too late.!

I know in general the Hub has the attention span of a ferret, but personally, until I hear differant, I have formed an opinion and a view on this which, of course, may or may not be correct, .....I dont know.

Personally, I dont see an issue in saying your piece and clearing the air, unless of course you have something to fear, but then you should not have gotton into that position anyway.

Since when is any business under any obligation to publicly disclose the details of every single business transaction??

Desmond had his say, he does not owe it to anyone to explain the details, unless laws were broken then he would need to explain to lawyers & police.

The OP decided to go public, surely it is the respondents right to choose what information he wants to make public or what he keeps private. The transaction was beteen the two of them to begin with and it could have been settled the same way!

If you're a potential customer, then call the shop and enquire about this sensational issue.

Then, go ahead and make your personal decision to shop there or not.

If you're not a potential customer, let it go and go ride your bike.

Sure, he can excersise his right to remain silent, which he appears to be doing, however, the nice thing is, rights are not mutually exclusive to one party, and I / we / whoever, can also excersise our right to continue beating this drum.

Personally I have perceptions about the issue, as I am sure do others, if the retailer is happy with those perceptions (be they right or wrong) out there in the public domain, so be it,..... I wouldn't be, but that's where our mileage differs it seems.

Anyway, I have to say I am intrigued at the free coffee and giant cookie defense to say the least, which, it appears is quite effective.

May I suggest here that whenever there is an uproar or someone is under attack, the best form of defense is not to state your case, but to simply invite the other party over to your house for free coffee and giant cookies on their Sunday ride, perhaps if its hot you can also let them take a dip in your pool,.......that could be a real clincher and you could increase your online friends 100 fold overnight.!

Although I am not sure us battle hardened Gautengers are overcome so easily,.... I dont know though, we may have to wait and see, but I think it will probably take a bit more than a free coffee and cookie to get us all warm and fuzzy,........ which is a pity really, it could be quite nice.

GOG,

The emphasis was less on the biscuits and coffee.

A good conversation really made it count.

I agree with you about managing perceptions about the Complete Cyclist brand.

That is up to the shop or franchise.

Okay, fair enough, I hear you.
