Pulling up chair and reaching for the munchies at this sudden but interesting shift of emphasis ... Friday afternoon CSI Hout Bay anyone? (Cycle Scene Investigation of course)

Yep, it is getting interesting  . Enjoy your munchies :)

Indeed.

I think the best part is he worked at a bike shop as a mechanic and can't do a tubeless conversion. No wonder his batteries are "recharged"

I get that - without a compressor it is a pain in the *&^%. And it is so much easier just to drop it off and let somebody else struggle.

Can't is probably not the right word. I say probably, because I haven't asked him either, before making assumptions.

I have one question, what did the OP try to achieve? Bad mouth the LBS or get them to do something that he thought he was entitled to?

Thanks. Was all set for a dull day of Java coding until this storm blew in to help me avoid getting any useful work done focus my mind

You can do it with a single bomb then pump it up with the floor pump. It is probably easier than taking the front wheel off, getting into the car with the bike, driving to the shop, getting out, asking someone (who you have just had issues with) to fix another of your problems. Cheaper too. But then maybe this guy is loaded. He does have 2 serious bikes there.

I am happy with the service I receive from Desmond and his staff. Will continue to support them.

Dem and the coffe is good too not to mention the BH bikes.

People are quick to use forums to "get-off"

so much negativity, so much energy

Can i start a thread here and complain about guwermin :w00t:

Have stunning weekend of riding guys

My money's on the butler or the maid .... but you can never rule out the aggrieved receptionist or lonely self obsessed hacker in his basement (wait, that's me .... oops!)

To bomb a tubeless is not a good idea as it could cause the sealant to form a ball....obviously on the trail / ride you do it but then the idea is to let it down when you get home and do it with normal air.

I wish the OP will tell us what he wanted to get out of this rant? Warn others? Get teh LBS to listen to him?

All this munching is bad for your power to weight ratio guys. You are cyclists after all. Take it slow :whistling:

Now moving on to scones with Nutella and Orange marmalade.

Thanks for cautionary note ... planning some usual Friday PM carb load to help offset that (Frida carb = Hansa in my case), followed by some room spinning
