TIB Posted November 6, 2023 Share HaHa, made me think of my encounter in the late 80's. Our division won the Chairman's Trophy and the prize was dinner at the much fancied Cape Sun. Although a plaasjapie we had impeccable table manners that was drilled into us as children. Quite confident I could hold my own and knowing at a grand eatery the portions are much smaller, we sat down at the perfectly set table. Soup, fish, meat and even dessert spoon and fork silver was laid out. As expected the portions were small. By the time the sweets came along I could not take it any more, mentioning this is the worse ice cream I have ever had in my life. Politely the lady next to me pointed out it was the starters with a sorbet palate cleanser...... Then the waiters brought the next set of cutlery and we had a lovley meal!
