The side which won the 2019 RWC had plenty of Europe-Based players, thus it makes sense for them to make use of their fitness and game-readiness during this tour as well. In parallel, SA rugby can continue to drive the local competition scene as much a feasibly possible in the current environment. Game time + TV revenue is important for all the players and franchises. Either by: the 6th place finisher playing a promotion relegation match, which will give a team like Georgia a shot at some upsets...Currently, Italy has just not come to the party Or, with our SA based Franchises joining the Top 14 at some stage, maybe SA will replace Italy...? It’s too valuable for SARU to keep the franchise teams in Europe and the Bokkies in SANZAAR. If they play their cards right the Bokkies could become the greatest team in the world.
