First Argus, starting in E. Not sure what a realistic expectation should be on my training volume. Doing the Macsteel Classic on Sunday so will use that to inform my expecations!

Aim is to try get below 2.50....thats pushing, anything under 3 is acceptable. No to Bay city, other commitments Sunday, but looks like I'll be heading to Wellington Sat for that one.

you obviously have some legs or you'd be further back.

Good luck, not too many guys get under three in the E Group, make sure you start at the front of the group and make sure you get a clear run up Edinburgh Drive, many a sub three attempt has been foiled there due to an unfortunate split in the group

Question to the road experts: I am starting in G on my 29er HT with Knobblies. DId a 3:34 last year on my 26 inch Full Suspension with slicks, starting in group M. What time can I aim for? Did a 3:02 at the Rollercoaster on the same 29er the other day.

SNAP!. E start for me too! Keen to go hard, but nervous of blowing up on ChappiesBossie with cramps like most years... Have tried to put in training for that, but will have to see on the day!

Starting in F, hopefully push some guys at the front of F hard and join you in E :P

Last year my lift was late to the start and I got shafted as the last person in the G group, spent the entire distance to Smits just catching the front of G. Then tried to stay with the break up Smits, that did not end well.

2.50 will be tough from E, even in perfect weather... good luck though!

The first 45 riders in E got a sub 3 last year and the winning time was 2:56. Doing a sub 2:50 will be a superhuman effort of note! As it is E worked very well together last year and had a far better result than the D group ahead of them. No doubt TinyK did a big share of work upfront!

Anone have a split time calculator for 2:58 at the major waypoints?
