E group last year was motoring. By Ladies Mile we had already caught C,D riders. We worked well together.. (apart from 200 stragglers on our wheel) but by the time we hit the soetwater climb we had split down to about 50 and once we hit noordhoek and chappies it was every man for himself besides a small 8 man group which went over the top of suikerbossie about 400m ahead of the rest. We managed 2h:56.

The only timepoint i remember was that we took 2hr to get into noordhoek.

A sub 3 in E is not that hard. Just sit in on the flats and pace hard on the hills and remember to attack on suikerbossie.

sorry guys, i've been reseeded to B. I feel like a turncoat but no doubt you'll still smash sub-3. Good luck!!

*off to find the "Argus B group start. Anyone?" thread

No sub 3 for E this year, it looks like only part of A managed a sub 3

did the B group not get there either?

makes me feel better then and have a sense of achievement of my time ....... my legs felt like lead and I suffered at every climb. Damn laaities that look like twigs and climb like monkeys (their ability, not that they climb badly)!

Legs were heavy all week. Was the same this morning. A bunch rode like league. Chilled on the flats and hammered the hills - I ain't no climber.

I kept with the front bunch of guys all the way, but lost touch up chappies. My descending skills (and weight) helped me reel them in. Going up Suikerbossie was tough. Quads burnt like hell and the front lot got away. Thanks to two tandems, they pulled a small group of us to the front bunch - I thanked them when we caught the front bunch (well, what I though was the front bunch). Think there were a few more that got away and caught the leading VB and Ladies bunch.

Tell your buddy to check his phone - I got an sms with my clock time that I finished soon after I finished - 9:20:09. started at 6:27. A couple seconds after my Garmin time but accurate.
