Which is the best workshop to take my mountain bike to for servicing (in your opinion)?

Im looking for a place somewhere from Bryanston, Fourways through to Midrand or even Centurion if theres a great one there.

I am also wanting a workshop where I can get all my technical things sorted by somebody who really knows what they are doing, not just some plonker with an allen key. Cost is not an issue.

If cost is not an issue go invest in some tools and head over to Mr Bornman for a course on DIY

Alternatively scour the internet and youtube for videos on how to. This has been my approach and besides the hectic stuff like shock and hub services, I have been doing it all myself.

Not likely to find better than Magnus Gouws, he is the mechanic for Team Bonitas and Team RECM.

Pm me if you need his contact details

Does he do work for the public?

And where is he based?

"We offer a Collection & Delivery service"

Very nice value add!

I work in Botswana and cannot afford to have sub standard work because its too far.

I take my Santa Cruz to Mike and Jason at Mikes Bikes once a year for a complete re build.Never in 3 years had an issue.Top quality and knowledge.

The rest of the time I service myself.

The only other mechanic at that level I would recommend is my son Chris at Circle Cycles in Fish Hoek  But thats a bit far

Yes he does, shop is in Pta-East but he lives in Centurion. You can always drop the bike off at his home

I've been in the bike game for 25 years and I can honestly say that Epic cycles in Centurion, owned by SA Vet Mtb champ Paul Cordes is the nicest shop around, the workshop is in the center of the shop, each technician has a little booth with tools and stand and hoses hanging down from above, you don't book in your bike and it gets worked on behind closed, you book it directly with the technician who openly works on it,its a real open friendly shop, the service is fantastic and Wayne Girdlestone runs his training and set up from there too! My current number 1 shop!!

Summit Cycles in Midrand aka Dangle. Centuries of experience pationately working on bicycles himself with many years racing in those big legs and thin upper body. One of the best wheel builders I may add. Go say hi to him and tell him I mentioned him on the Hub to go see him. Best service in town at a reasonable price!

Mr Best..... maybe you should start a bike shop on the sideline...... imagine in flickering neon...... BEST BIKE WORKSHOP!!!!!!! The possibilities are endless!!!!!!
