  1. So, after 25 years my disc is united with it's original frame...... Now the project can start.... If anyone has any decent history, or owns one, please contact me on 0832339674
  2. These guys are using the alternative veld roads to escape. The actual Delmas road is busy and there are many new Business's with Cameras. Brinnant also guard the new Estate just past the brick factory entrance.....some one must have these guys on CCTV.
  3. I have been in the Motortrade for 30 odd years and we have a similar situation. Usually the Warranty replaced part's labour cost is covered by the Warranty but at a reduced labour rate..... Eg Shimano would replace the XTR derailer valued at R1000 ( cost price ) plus warranty labour rate of .5 hours where as a cash cust would buy the XTR derailer at full price and pay full labour rate. The motor manufacturer I work for even cover vehicle SAPS clearance and registration at NATIS if a Engine is replaced.
  4. Devastating news...... I have many fond memories of Frans organising me Tandem 55 blades for my TT rig..... RIP

  6. Try using the local drawing salve called "Uit trek" I suffer from deep saddle sores and this stuff works pre and post ride.
  7. Ah.... Now all you tiny feather weights can back off, this is my dept... I'm 6'6' and 100kg... Honestly, avoid carbon, you will either crack or flex it, try find a decent Cannondale CAAD or a Merckx in a std geometry, dont even dare look at a compact frame. Cannondale have a awesome warranty system and the CAAD series are strong, Merckx are brilliant but scarce. You will most likely need a 120mm stem or longer, and longer cranks too. You are most welcome to come over and take my 63 Merckx for a ride.....there was a 63 Cannondale frame on the hub a few days back for a good price!
  8. ooooohhhh, but just pitch up with too long socks, or a sleeveless shirt or wrong cassette....... DISGUSTING.... long time comming.... We need a private events promotion Co to act as our Gov body, something like HA Toere.....
  9. take the pedal out and try screw iI in from the other side...... I highly doubt you've managed to force it in cross threaded all the way..... if you screw it in from the other side,t will clean the threads and then take it out and fit it correctly from the correct side. ...and lock tight or your wife's favorable R400 nail varnish works like a charm.....

  11. Hi Guys I used to order and buy the ProCycling magazine and the Tour De France highlights DVD from Cycling weekly online shop in the UK, but that, along with Cycle Sport magazine has gone belly up..... Does anyone here subscribe to Procycling magazine and order the TDF DVDs, through whom?
  12. I do a dam loop every weekend and I've had no major issues, but do set out early..........
  13. wow!!!! Fantastic..... and next maybe a hill climb TT from the way bottom gate to the tower!!
  14. Man....The Kop was busy earlier today, roadies, bush wackers and a massive group of runners and Hi Risk were up and down frequently. I love it.....
  15. This is fantastic new........ thank you to all involved.....
  16. Go see a real Dr, I burst/herniated 3 discs and had an emergency op,and slight nerve damage. My story is here on The Hub somewhere, anyway, I had a fusion and am doing great....
  17. ok so here is my 5 cents..... I am well over 2 meters and a tad under 100kg, and yes, I bust crack wheels, frames and cranks, here is the secret, try get a set of old school training wheels, something like Campaq Atlantas, or Alu Cosmics, these things are bullet proof and because its a deep section alu rim, the flex is far less so the spokes don't take as much strain. My current Power Tap is built into American classic semi deep section and so far (3 years) I've bust 1 spoke. Where abouts are you situated, you welcome to try my Alu Cosmics, they just hanging at the moment.
  18. What about Ryan Cox..... he was phenominal and a super nice guy, and then the two upcoming guys, also from Barloworld that died in the small plane crash, Jaco Odendal, I believe his Kowyns pass record still stands today.....
  19. Does anyone know the twitter name of the site that incorrectly reported this??
  20. Oh, and to the Cycling site and Journalist who reported on Keagan being dead, do you realise what trauma you have caused his family in NZ, to get that call at night being told your son is dead, then turning on the web, and he is alive, then dead, then alive..... As a sign of apology, I think you should pay for their flights to be with their son, its the least you can do!
  21. Right Guys, Ive just spoken to Wayne, he is flying out from NZ to Italy ASAP,I also spoke to a very reliable source with in the team, Keagan is in a bad way, lost a lot of blood but he is in good hands in hospital, and he has made it through the first critical hours..... Please keep Wayne , Des, Dylan and especially Keags in your prayers, and the team, they are a bunch of young guys and something like this can be very traumatic and damage them for life..... Keep fighting Grasshopper.....
  22. Grasshopper...... you keep fighting.....!! Des, Wayne and Dylan, my prayers go out to you.
  23. My 5 cents.... I honestly don't believe any of the current power meters on the market are crap, each brand is fantastic in its own way, I think the potential buyer has to decide what they really need. I went through this same choice 2 years or so back, this is my story. I currently have 3 bikes, a training rig, race rig and TT rig so I needed 3 PM or 1 that I could easily swop between the 3 bikes..... Stages is by far the lightest, but I opted for a G3 power tap hub/wheel, mainly due to the ease of just swopping wheels, and coming from a motor trade back ground, I believe in reading power where it leaves the vehicle/bike.....in other words, power on the rear wheel, not at the drive point as you loose power through the gears/drive train, and Power Tap gives you total power at the hub, not one specific legs power and doubles it up. The service I have had from The Power Tap Team is just phenominal, I have no complaints there at all.
  24. best way ever: I never remove a chain, too much risk!! bottle of PREPSOL from Midas, and the wire braai brush, dribble PREPSOL onto gears and chain, allow to soak, dip wire brush in stinking hot water, hold against cassette and rotate cranks backward... You will not ever get a cleaner chain!!
