You rode a great race! Well worth that wimpy breakfast. You riding Saturday?

Thanks Mr. D. Well done to you to. 21 Minutes improvement on last years time in the wind, not to shabby. Will do some MTB riding with the wife this weekend.

If there is one thing I can fault the organisers on is the lunch in Vivo. They go through a lot of trouble and the food is great. But serving it and getting it to the cyclists takes to long. Every time the third stage was tough in the first few kilometers as jou just ate this nice lunch and it is "heavy".

This year my sister and myself had our own lunch. So instead of getting in the queue we parked at our car and ate our own sandwiches and fruits and things. Even though I 'bonked" at the end of the second stage, I started the third stage easier than previous years.

My wife gave someone a lift in our car who bike broke. When she stopped at Vivo as we got there, he went to get his lunch, and we were almost on our way to the starting blocks when he came back from the queues.

many were complaining bout the ques, they should have 4 people serving. thank goodness my sister could stand in the ques for us. That helped.

Sincere apologies for the slip-up. Will be No.1 on our "fix it" list for next year.

I agree, it's always been a problem getting lunch quickly at Vivo, but I dont know what they could do to improve it. Maybe pre-packaged lunch?

They did prepacked a couple of years recently & was fine.

Widening the debate from wind and lunch - there was a definite step up in organization this year with the tourist village active on the friday night, and the venue being really nicely set up for saturday. Its a win to do no. collection away from the shopping centre.

Also, announcements with Johnny Koen before each stage were a big improvement on whats gone before. Had the feeling in previous years that the announcer didnt like cyclists at all.

Overall, not setting up chutes at each stage and letting ourselves sort it out seemed to work fine and was less fuss.

Traffic control was great though i feel sorry for the hold-ups we caused. The motorcycle marshalls are really good, keeping us in line(ish) and dealing with motor vehicles.

Its a great event and this year was noticeably better - the lunch venue was a big improvement. The massage tents at each stop and the large no. of staff was great.

Next year though provide toilet roll at the end of the tunnels. If the dark didnt get you, the big crosswinds on the fast descent would have.

Thanks! Felt great on the day.

Will also be in the mountains trying to keep up with my missus.

Was a great event and kudos or the great organizing. Only thing that bugged me was that the internet said that registration would be open till 10pm, I had to leave work early, pic up the missus in Modimole and drive my ass of to get to registration early enough. got the 20 to 10 and they told me sorry they packed up already, meaning I drove hard on toll roads for no reason, only got to bed at around 11pm and had to get up before 5am again to go get our numbers.

other than that it was great, all the snacks, waters food! Sho, I did not even have a long line to wait for lunch.

In previous years the prepacked lunches worked well, no queuing and reasonable variety.
