Yeah i think he confirmed last week that he doing the Cape Epic.

 

A mate of mine that was at the transition area watching the elites said that Rynard didnt even rack his bike according to the announcers at the race yesterday

Glad to hear that, we used to live in the same street. In those days he was still a laatjie and he was doing biathlons (running and swimming).

Just a gut feeling.... but I get the feeling that Rynard is gatvol of (road) triathlon??

Maybe he's decided to inject some mtbking fun into his sporting career now.

 

I remember before his international Iron man career took off he dabbled a bit in mountain biking, even managed to break his collarbone in a race once while he was either leading or in 2nd place.

if I remember correctly, Raynard did African X this weekend? so would not have been even planning to go to the champs?

I live in PE and did not even know that this event happened. Good marketing by the local and national governing bodies. I would have loved to watch.

If not for one or two guys mentioning it in the morning bunch last week, I also wouldn't have known about it.
