So I get a pair of the top of the line Assos. Go for a 1.5hr ride, nothing major, just a decent spin.

Wake up today and I have a saddle sore!

WTF! The sales guy told me "these are like riding on a stick of butter".

What do you guys think of these shorts, those who have spent a fortune on them...

I think if a sales guy told me that, I'd run like ****out of his shop. I also think if you rode on a stick of butter, you'd probably have worse than one saddle sore, so maybe he was right all along.

Think they're great. Very well made, the technical detail is second to none... Saddle sores? I doubt any clothing manufacturer guarantees their product against saddle sores...

I love mine - I had the Mille first and then upgraded to the FI.13. I can do a 5 hour ride and no issue / problem / pain - get on the bike the next day and do it again. I will never go to another brand

yup, enjoy mine too, nice thick padding and very comfortable fit.

If you dont use a good chamois cream, then dont be surprised that your skin will be chaffed. also, it takes several rides (using chamois cream) to 'toughen up' the skin in your nut area...

Nice padding and very comfortable, I won't change for anything else. I don't think you got the saddle sore from the assos after a 1.5hr ride. Riding for such a short time even without any padding you shouldn't have any saddle sores. Perhaps check your bike set up, saddle height, etc.

Yeah its strange. I have the Mille, and love them. I ride about 4 days a week in them and put about 8-10hr a week in the saddle. So the area down there should be tough. Bike fit is perfect. I guess I just need to break them in like a good pair of shoes.

Also, glad I could create some entertainment for you guys. But, no, I don't swing like that.
